Reduce the Heat!

This is my temporary solution without opening the system and installing an SSD inside. Performance is an improvement over the 5400rpm internal. Recommend waiting for a price drop on the 2TB SSD. Brought this with my rewards certificates. The only knock is the short dongle or connecting cable. As others have mentioned, may need an extension. Games definitely load faster and heat is minimal. Have also noticed the need to disconnect the drive and reconnect before system start up.

This little thing provided both of those. Loading times were noticeably shorter and of course the extra space was great.

As others have stated, the connecting cable is stupid short. I bought an extension cable but couldn't get it to work. I bought this on sale and had some best buy reward money. Not sure this would be worth paying full price.

The only issue is that the built in cable is subpar so it doesn't set next to the console very well.

If you have the series X steer clear from this as the new box does not recognize the external ssd and prompts you to download new games to the internal ssd or to buy the internal ssd expansion. Wish I would have known that it wasn’t going to be compatible with the series x before buying. Overpriced!

(CoD takes up way too much space) I needed something to hold more games, this works well. Load time seems faster than the internal drive, but there's no easy way to tell for sure. Overall, I am happy I chose this drive.
