This was a good buy for the price. It would be nice if the manufacture had free cloning software with this product. The drive is pretty quite.

If you are adding a drive (as opposed to replacing an existing one), open the case before you go to the store. Does the power supply have an extra connector for a SATA drive? Do you have a spare data cable? Do you have an empty 3-1/2 inch bay for it, or will you need to get adapters for a 5-inch bay? These should be available at the store if needed.

drive works as expected. Remember to change bios settings from RAID to ACHI if installing Windows in single drive setup (HP desktop default is RAID for some odd reason)

I bought this to replace my failing 5 year old Western Digital hard drive. I like Western Digital products as they seem to have the best service life in my applications. I have had other manufactures products consistently fail after 2 to 3 years so I feel the Western Digital drives are the best for the money spent.

The noise level is a little more than I expected, but the drive works just fine. I would recommend to a friend, but probably would suggest going with something other than Blue from the noise standpoint.

I was running out of space for my work and had been putting it off because of the data transfer to new HDD. It is quite a step up from a 80 GB HDD.

I buy many drives and users don't need a lot of capacity for a business PC. 500 GB is way more than enough unless you want to store video. Drives made by another manufacturer used to be my choice but I have had many of them fail prematurely in the last 3 years.

Hard drive in Dell computer died. Immediately went to Best Buy to purchase a Western Drive. Always trust these.

The geek squad was helpful and my computer is working. I don't know much about the hard ware of computers so I am glad to have the geek squad on my side.

This is my HD of choice I tried other Drives over the years but I always come back to this one by Western Digital its very quiet and it has a fast access time and rarely crash. Even when it does, you can still retrieved your documents.

I always keep two hard drives on my desktop and clone the primary each weak. This way if the primary fails then all I need do is swap them out and I'm back in business. I'm then only one week behind of my data. With the Western Digital drives and using the Acronis True Image for WD things go very smoothly.
