    I've been relying on WD drives for over 20 years now, and this one is great, fast data transfer, easy to plug in and use. For all you techies out there, this drive when disassembled will connect to a SATA port just fine, so if the enclosure ever gets damaged or shorted out you can crack it open and still use the drive.

    The install and related updates took a couple of tries before the device was consistently recognized on Windows 7. Once I got it running, I found it a bit clumsy to test whether files were being backed up without recovering all which I didn't want to do. I wish WD would make it easy to review a backups contents like other software does. But most importantly, the daily backups are now running smoothly.

    I spent a nice chunk of money for this drive, and it will not start up. Hoping that Best Buy can fix or replace it tomorrow when I take it back to the store.

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW. But you do get what you pay for and the only transfer is via USB. I should have known. Other than that the hard drive ain't too shabby.

    The unit died after only 4days of use. Best Buy was very good about replacement. So far the unit is operating to spec.
