Western Digital drives are the most reliable drives on the market. I've tried others and was sadly disappointed.

For the price it was a great bargain, lots of space.

I recently purchased my first WD hard drive after hearing great things about their products and satisfaction from other users. I am pleased with the responsiveness this HD offers, as well as, the protection capabilities since I am using this to backup and store many personal photos and other media that are irreplaceable.

I bought it because yet another external hard drive has become corrupt. I will let you know if this one has the same problem in 1-2 years like all my others.

Bought this for my my xbox one and it works great.

this external hard drive is great for storing back up data and just for storing extra data like photos, videos, etc.

replace an old drive which was getting to small same vendor and i expect it to work as good at the old one

I'm happy with it and it seems to do its job well.

This harddrive worked pretty much immediately after I plugged it in. The only thing was that is doesn't natively work with windows backup and the other back up service from we isn't that great. It might be because I'm on an older windows 7 machine, but still a bit annoying. General storage purposes though this drive is great and backs up my 1tb hard drive a few times over.

This was an awesome deal. I'm using this to store all of my pictures and movies. So far so good. I hooked it up to my router and it's working as a wireless hard drive. I can automatically download my pictures to it from my phone which makes my life so much easier. Overall I love this product.

Has been great and reliable so far for my MAC. No problems to note,..even when not ejecting properly!

This drive was priced very low when I got it at Best Buy. It works fine. My only problem was with the WD software. I just wanted a drive to drag and drop files to. In the setup they want you to install the backup software, which I don't really want. You can still use it without installing the software. That is what I do. Read and writes are quick. I have had no problems yet.

I purchased this to back up my massive iTunes music library and it works great. It is faster than I thought it would be and I have had absolutely no issues with it. In the past I have had issues with Seagate drives so I thought I would try Western Digital this time and I am very happy.

It does a great job of storing vital computer information which can be transferred to other devices.

Let's be realistic, Doing a review on a type of device that's primarily used for overflow storage, by the majority of its purchasers, is ridiculous. Generally consumers in this category, of low tech home storage, are going to pick the external HD that has the best GB to Dollar ratio. The drive works and hasn't failed. First usage after a system boot-up takes a minute to initialize before use, which can be annoying. The interface wire is USB on one end, and mini and micro inputs on the other end, for the back of the HD, which is odd. No power switch on the HD for strictly backup users who don't want to waste cycles on their items life.
