good value for price

the amount of space you get for the price is great, but due to the way the manufacturer calculates space (using 1024 instead 1000) the disk actually shows less space than 4GB

I bought this to use as a backup drive for a Windows Server. The drive wasn't easily recognized. Even after finally getting it set up, it would routinely disappear.

I connected it to my desktop and nothing happened. Plus it has to be connected to electricity so is not as convenient as a portable one.

Perfect for Xbox One

I bought this to increase my storage on my Xbox One, and it performs as advertised. Where I was 93% full with 3 more games to install, I'm now at 9% full with ALL of my games installed. Now, I can download almost at will without worrying about capacity issues. Setup was literally plug in and go. The Xbox takes it from there. Highly recommend!!

Get a MyCloud if you are looking to add this to a network router to share information. The MyCloud unit works much better

Very portable with light weight. If price is cheaper, I like this.

Great Storage at a Great Price in My Book!

I recommend WD My Book 4TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive Black WDBFJK0040HBK-NESN to anyone seeking a large amount of external storage for a small amount of money. The last external hard drive I purchased was a 1TB drive for $499.99. This is FOUR TIMES LARGER and nearly one quarter of the price. It has been easy to configure and use just as Western Digital's drives have always been. Being a USB 3.0 has been a SPEED blessing compared to my older 2.0 drives. It is hard to go wrong with a quality product, vast amounts of storage, and such low prices. It's a good buy in my book!

4TB -- what more can someone say?
I'm not a huge Western Digital fan but this drive has been reliable, easy to use and has enough storage to keep a couple of my PCs backed up. There is software included (encryption, automated backup, etc), but I haven't used it.
I'll be buying another one of these, especially when they're on sale for $119 again!

Segate Personal Cloud

The worst product I have ever bought in my life. Extremely confusing, unorganized, and unreliable. I just returned it to Best Buy and another customer returned his due to his Seagate Personal Cloud due to his completely failing on him and crashing.
Your better off getting a large external hard drive. Much easier and convenient. Segate customer service representatives also have no idea what they are talking about. They were no help with this product and each time I was on the phone with them for hours and made no progress in getting it organized and running properly.

It's great for a external drive for the Xbox one. Easy out of the box use Xbox one formats it in seconds and then it's ready to use. Make sure to move your games over to it once installed once you pick it as ur primary storage device

I love My Book!

I put off buying an external hard drive because I could not decide between the 4TB My Book or the My Cloud. I am so glad I bought the My Book. I ended up plugging it into my Apple Airport Extreme and am sharing it on my home network. It was so easy and awesome to have 4TB available for movies and PC backups.

I reached critical mass for storage on my XB1, so I bought two of the 3TB one for each of my sons, and after seeing the great reviews out here, and my boys' praises I quickly bought the 4TB! Very easy to hook up, the XB1 recognized it right away with no problems, and I was able to give it a name, and make it my default drive.

I used the hard drive about one or two times a week. This drive died on me just after about a year and a half! i am not happy at all with tis brand and would recommend any other brand than Western Digital. This is the second drive to die in me.
