I bought gear 500g system and got this 4 Tb HDD for xmas. Easy hook up and system did everything. Big reason I choose bone over ps4-- tons of space wo having to open system. I think 500 go internal drive is still being used. Won't have to delete games. Looks great too.

Bought this for my Xbox One, It was easy to connect and setup, no issues, nice and quiet. I've hard WD products before and they are still around after couple of years hope this does as well.

Sales staff told me this could easily be formatted to work with my MacBook Pro. My Mac couldn't see it at all. Returned it and was told by customer service these do not work for most people.

This a great external drive for the price. At the time that I bought this it was cheaper than OEM bare drives of the same size. I'm happy about this drive, with USB 3.0 its quick and can transfer loads of data quickly.

I bought this primarily to hold my iTunes Library, as it is well over 2TB at this point. I have a Mac Mini that is mostly used for sharing my content over my home network to my Apple TV's. Within 20 minutes, I had the drive hooked up and transferring my iTunes Library to it. So far I haven't had a single problem with the drive, and it has been every bit as fast as I need it to be. For those looking specifically at speeds, I got a rock solid 137MB/s transfer rate for the entire transfer. Essentially, I started the transfer around 9PM the night I bought it, and it was completely done by 5AM. This drive is absolutely compatible with Mac, PC, even Xbox. I plan on buying at least two more of these to use as Time Machines on my Mac.

This was very easy to setup. Just plug it in and you have a huge repository for all your files. It was a great price with tons of storage. Probably will pick up another one soon just to have redundant backups.

Does not do anything salesperson said it would. Cannot connect to a network like salesperson said. Cannot back up phone like salesperson said.

this external hard drive is seamless with windows 10 os and it works great with xbox one to add 4 tb space to store all xbox one games without having to delete games when buying new ones

Purchased this to attach to my AirPort. Works great, easy setup, no need to extra formatting for the AirPort. Highly recommend not only for the price, but also ease of use.

When I started learning Lightroom I read a suggestion to store all your photos on an external hard drive. I already had a WD Passport but wanted a separate backup exclusively for photography. I read reviews of several different brands and products and decided that the WD - My Book 4TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive was the best product for me. I have been very satisfied with the purchase.

This drive is great. Plenty of space for backups and easy to setup. Just plug it in and you're set, its that easy.

Fast external drive requiring minimal effort to set up. Relatively large capacity of 4 TB, enough for me to store a year of security camera footage.

Says 4TB yet lose 400gb right off the bat. Returned it and got the WD Cloud NAS storage. All 4tb usable, go figure.

This is a great external drive for the average user who wants to back up or expand their storage needs. The USB 3.0 allows for faster transfer speeds but the lack of internal processor ultimately prevents this from being a great option for a media server that streams Ultra HD content. For the price, this thing is great! I bought this to expand my storage capacity on my desktop. I have my itunes library, which is over 2TB, stored on here. It works very well for streaming compressed HD (under 5GB files) to my apple tv's. I've had some lag when I tried uncompressed (25-35GB) streaming. I use a synology NAS for streaming anything over 5GB. I would recommend this device for someone with similar needs. Great product for the price!

have not gotten a clean back up yet, most likely the computers fault, but still not able to tell.

My 3GB external started to make noises and show signs of going bad. I bought this WD My Book 4TB external and haven't had a problem.

This worked great with my xbox one. It was recognized right away and added a great amount of storage and the games load faster. The only thing i recommend is if you chose to have new files downloaded to the external to go into the power setting and uncheck "when system is off, turn off storage". I turned my system off thinking a game would download over night but the installation stopped due to the storage turning off with the system. Hope this helps.

I bought this hard drive for my Xbox One in particular, after I began to run out of storage. Now, with the built in X1's hard drive, you tend to run out of space for games quickly. With this, that problem is no more. 4 terabytes is a ton of space for all the games you'll need for the foreseeable future. And for this price, it's a value that simply can't be beat. I highly recommend this hard drive, as its fast and offers a ton of space.

Was a great value. USB 3.0 is fast and I can hold as many video files that I need when editing.
