Great amount of TB for the price. Got this while on sale. Previous HD was a Seagate. Found out the hard way that those HD's can't handle a bump or two. Had computer wizards do their magic and extract data from Seagate and transfer to this WD without any issues. Experts told me that Seagate has a high rate of failure. Wish I knew that then. But at least now I have the right brand. Half a year later and still no issues.

Bought this for local backup of server, so I don't use the applications that it come with, but for the price this was a great buy. WD continues to produce dependable, and stable products.

This is a Must Have for anyone with an Xbox One that is needing additional storage. We bought one and not only do we have plenty of storage but our Xbox One runs faster and better!

Using this as a network backup device by connecting it to my Netgear Nighthawk router via USB. Plenty of space and fast enough for background backups. Haven't tried it yet as a media server, but plan to in the future. If you need a general purpose storage/backup device, this should do the job.

This External drive is amazing its actually faster the HD on the xbox one my downloads and installs are aprox 30% faster and i have tons of games and still have 3.6TB left its awesome

Got it to back up files and also to move files between computers. It is plugged into my router and is seen by all computers. It hooked to router by USB instantly and works great.

Great external hard drive, stores a lot of information. I use it to store music and movies. The only downfall is that my TV does not read it, but that is not the hard drive's fault.

I bought this with the explicit purpose of using it for my Xbox One and it works perfectly. Would definitely recommend for anyone searching for a good hard drive for this purpose.

The 4TB WD external hard drive is just what my daughter needed to back up all of her photos and work-related lesson plans. Easy to use and provides a little more peace of mind.

Great capacity but the software locks the drive and does not function when to auto unlock when you sign into Windows. You have to manually enter the password to gain access to the external USB drive. This is an annoying "feature".

Simple, large capacity, no case encryption to potentially cause problems. Would have been nice to have a longer warranty, but I just plugged it in and it was set to go. Wonderful!

This hard drive has plenty of speed and memory for the price. It was easy to install and use. The Best Buy sales staff were very helpful and gave me the best price possible.

I had a 3 TB Seagate Expansion External HD and one day stop working. I lost all my Data! Now I decided to try another HD brand. For now my new WD 4 TB it's working excellent!!!

I've always really liked WD products and this is no exception. The drive is easy to set up and so far works like a charm! I won't trust my data to any other company by choice!

My Seagate hard drive went bad after just a couple of years. Trying the WD model as it had very good reviews and ratings. Had it about 2 months and it is performing very well.

This is my second MyBook drive and I've had great luck with the units. I currently have this drive connected to a NAS device to work as my Time Machine back up for the networked computers in the house. So far there are no issues and it sleeps when the system is turned off at night.

I purchased this after months of searching for an acceptable source of additional memory for my Xbox One. It is quick and simple to use. Just plug it in, wait for your Xbox One to recognize it and there you have it. Usb 3.0 is what is required for storage and this WD My Book is, so don't bother trying an old external you've got lying around. This was priced 189.99 and on Black Friday I lucked out for 99.99. Anyways, if your looking for a solid external made by a great brand then look no further. One more thing, I know it says it's 4tb, but in reality you only get 3.6. That's still HUGE as far as Xbox One storage goes.

Had to replace a SEAGATE version of the same thing that was only a year old... Hoping this one lasts longer than that. I've had several My Books and all are still working.

I have 4 computers in my family. This device allows me to do image backups on all of them once a month. They're all on Win10, so we don't have media. This device should give me the necessary means to restore them w/o Win10 media. Won't know for sure until such emergency arises.

The amount of things (documents, pictures, etc.) that this item can store is unreal. So glad to have a back up for things on my computer and a place to store my pictures.
