Bought for a Mac, instructions were easy to understand, works great

Good value for the black Friday pricing. The supporting software could do better. There are two compatible backup software you could possibility use but only one of them is working.

Really good product, enough memory for everything movies photos music etc and transfers really fast!

I bought this drive to use as a movie server because of it's large capacity. I purchase the drive about a month ago. Brought it home and hooked it up to my windows 8 computer. When I tried to boot up my machine, the drive prevented it from initializing. I unplugged the drive and tried to boot up the computer again, it initialized with no problem. I plugged in the drive, now that the machine was running. The drive worked flawlessly, and I was able to store movies on it. Since I was not able to boot up my machine when the drive was connected I was upset, because the drive was plugged into the rear 3.0 Usb slot located on the rear of my desktop computer. This is a real problem because to start the computer again, I had to craw under my computer desk, and unplug it. I found this unacceptable, so I called customer service, and ask them why my computer would not boot up with the new drive attached. To make a long story short the technician said that the Usb cable is defective, and he would send me out a new one. I waited for the cable for about a week, when it came I plugged it into the computer, and tried booting it up. The technician was correct, the computer booted. Problem solved. I think that WD should test their cables before they ship them out, preventing this from happening,

Unable to add a hard drive internally to an Xbox One, I read quite a few reviews on the best external USB 3.0 drive, and finally settled on the Western Digital 4TB My Book. Installation was seamless and all that was required was to hook it up, apply power and the Xbox formatted it. Now I have lots more space to store games and apps, access time is at least as quick as the native drive, and it looks good sitting next to the console.

It does the job great and has lots of space for all pictures we take of our kids. Simple to manage

All of my Hard Drives are from WD. The failure rate are really low. The 4 Tb External Hard drive are primarily used for backup purposes. I would not buy any other hard drive. Back then i used to have Seagate hard drive but it keeps failing on me after several months. If anyone is looking to buy a hard drive, then i would really recommend everyone getting WD Hard drive. I'm thinking about getting another WD Green 4tb in a the next few days.

I have attached this drive to my Wi-Fi router to serve as my cloud storage. It performs as advertised.

4TB external drive is very useful for me, I save digital image copies in there as my backup files.

Storage capacity is good, warranty is good, what's not to like. I actually picked up a second one.
