Slowed down my system a little during the initial backup process but now everything is back to normal. I had to call their tech support a couple of times with minor questions and they sorted me out very efficiently.

Great drive for the price

Uses 3.0 usb with a plug to power it. Plenty of space at a sale price of 119. I believe it better then seagate drives as wd last and the few seagate drives I had all failed with in 1.5 years.

Fast data transfer and large storage capacity

The USB 3 connection allows for fast data transfer. I have it connected to my ASUS AC router now, which allows it to be used anywhere you have an internet connection using ftp protocol. There is a lot of memory, which makes it good for pictures, videos -- anything with large data files. It would also be good for creating backups with multiple computers. I have the Western Digital My Book Live storage device as well, which connects directly to the router. I personally like the interface of the My Book Live better than this as I can access that device with apps on my ipad and iphone. But if all you need is a lot of storage capacity and fast data transfer using USB this is a good choice.
