I lost all my infomation and pictures on my last pc, This product is just what I needed to keep all my pictures and information safe and not ever lose it again. The product is easy to use and we LOVE it!

Bought this product to backup my files, mainly photos and home videos. Easy to connect and fast transfer speed.

This hard drive has both great capacity and speed.

Good basic drive for data storage and backup. The USB 3 is fast enough. Although as mac user I prefer using the older Firewire and newer Thunderbolt. If you're a windows users you'll probably be happy enough. Btw, I've owned and used several WD drives and so far so good. All have been reliable.

We use these MyBooks all the time for our business and out of 14 of them, all of them still work perfectly. We format them using EXFAT format and we can use them on our Macs and PCs. Awesome Hard Drive

I got this external hard drive to store all my scanned photos, I can organize them and have them all in one spot.

What's more to say? Plug it in to a USB3 or 2 port and it works, and works well. Speeds are in the middle 60's MB/s with USB3 assuming it's contiguous writes. The device will power down on its own after a while of non-use, leaving the status light blinking slowly. My only dislike is that they didn't include a power switch on the unit. It's quite irritating to have to unplug it every time I power down my system. I don't like leaving it in standby all the time.

I've always go for WD,product fidelity and presentation have no match. Tech support has always being helpfull and on store support too. So far all WD EXT HDD has gave me what all of us want and that is peace of mind that are kids, family, friends pictures, memories etc will be there for us just a click away.

Great external hard drive with plenty of storage to use for back up or storage. Also comes with Acronis True Image software for ease in backing up.

I was looking for some external hard drives for my Xbox one and bought this after reading good reviews. I connected it to Xbox and the whole setup process was incredibly easy. Very happy with my new product, great buy for price too.

I am using this to back up all my smaller external hard drives. It works as advertised and is totally silent. I have used Western Digital hard drives for many years with good success.

I bought this hard drive to replace an older pocket model that had failed. it is a nice upgrade to the previous model. it does require 120v external power. Comes with everything needed right out of the box. I am using this as additional storage for the Xbox One and it was plug and play.

I bought this as a backup for one of my hard drives. With the software you can set it to automatically backup what you want. You get to choose files, folders, or the whole drive. It has a schedule you can pick; Instantly, daily, monthly, etc. You can also set a time for it to backup. I've had it for a couple months now and it is still running great. The backup doesn't take a long time either. No lag on my PC either. Exactly what I expect from WD. I have several WD Hard drives and external drives and they have never failed me. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to backup their drives (which everyone should) or just for storage.

Same physical dimensions as the 2 and 3 TB versions. Moved about a Tb of media data to it the day I opened it. I have been using it consistently since then. No issues so far *knock on wood*. Spins up and loads files quick. USB 3.0 usually averages >100 Mbps depending on what your copying to/from.

Currently I have two external hard disk drives - a WD MyBook 4TB and a Seagate. One drive is used for full system backups while the other is used for photos. I find the WD MyBook to be a better, more stable drive than the Seagate. My computer runs Windows 8.1 and sometimes Windows drops the Seagate drive and then usually recognizes it again within a few seconds or a minute. This does not happen with the WD MyBook. Setup with the WD was simple and quick. Unlike my Seagate, the WD MyBook came with a set of extremely useful drive utilities. I really appreciate this. I plan to replace the Seagate external HDD with another WD MyBook 4TB.

I bought it because my Xbox one was running out of storage. Now I have more than enough storage! It was very easy to set up, and it black color makes it look attractive next to the Xbox one.

Never an issue with WD external hard drives. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but in this case you get so much more than the price suggests. Other brands seem to have many more issues and sometime lose all of your valuable data without notice. Play it safe and stick with WD!

At 1st this drive seemed to be working great, but in short order it started having disk errors. I use a lot of WD drives, and have been pretty happy with them. I think i would still recommend this product, but just keep an eye on it for the first week or so to make sure it is behaving. Keep in mind, any and all drive manufacturers will have a dud once in a while.

Needed an external hard drive and this Western Digital 4TB external drive fit the bill to a t. Western Digital has a good reputation in the marketplace for its drives and I feel comfortable that this unit will last a long time based on the online reviews that I had read prior to buying.
