I was looking for an inexpensive way to expand the very limited memory of my new Mac Book Pro 13" retina with just 125 GB of internal, fast, flash storage. Since speed was also part of my new goal, stepping up from USB 2 to USB 3 seemed to offer promise. I can now boot from this external drive 4X faster than with a USB 2 external drive and I am a happy camper.

Drive works as advertised. I currently have 8 WD external USB 3.0 drives and have not had any problems.

Its been almost 2 months since I purchased the Hard Drive and overall I feel like its been a good buy. WD is known for making solid products so i've been pleased. As long as you have studied up a little on how to maintain your HD, it should last you a while, barring a freak accident.

This is an ideal product for home office use. Large storage space.

Use it everyday as a backup, 13+ games downloaded on it and tons of documents on it and still have 3+tbs left on it. Highly recommend, worth the extra money for the 4tb

I bought this with the intention to have it as a external hard drive for my Xbox One. It worked out of the box like it was made for the console. Plugged it in, and one, two, three, my XBone has an additional 3TB. It's been working so well in fact, that I almost forgot I had the hard drive!

This is my 1st external hard drive. I bought it for my Xbox One. All I did was plug it in the Xbox and it was good to go. I transferred all my games to this hard drive, no software needed. So far no problems playing my games.

I had my eyes on thIs 4TB USB 3 for a while, but unfortunately I waited until I had to rush to replace a 3 years old failing WD external 2TB Fire Wire drive with all my media on it. I guess these drives last only 2 to 3 years max. USB 3 is blazing fast, no need to spend extra on thunderbolt

My internal hard-drives were getting full with all the illicit material i was saving. This external drive really helps out. Go Raiders.

Great amount of storage. Just needs a power switch to ensure it can power down when not in use.

Easy to set up. Lots of storage memory. It's got the software to backup my files that I choose. When restoring files I don't have to restore all, I can pick which files to restore.

Am using drive for frequent iMac backs. It is quick, and has enough space for my large computer.

The Western Digital My Book 4GB external hard drive has a good amount of storage for the price.

The WD - My Book is the best value for any small business storage needs You can set it up to backup any stored files that you need, up to 4 TB. I have been in the tech industry for many years and this device is the best storage device for my dollar I have found to date. I do suggest the WD my cloud over this product as is allows you to wirelessly share all your files and set permissions for anyone in your office. It also allows access for any remote workers, to share valuable data, images, programs, or files.

I bought this to go with my xbox one as the 500gb/1Tb fills up way too quickly. Note that only 3,600 of the 4,000 gb are actually able to be used. This is due to a difference in how storage space is calculated by the manufacturer versus what the general population expects.

A little more complicated than just plug and play but once you figure it out it is easy to use.

outstanding addition to the console. I got a killer deal on it, it downloads content faster, gives less loading screens and it even LOOKS like the Xbox with its glossy black finish and white lights. Highly recommended for those who want to never worry about memory space again

storage and speed is great, but no USB. i thought i can plug it to and make it as wireless
