A good deal

I am using it as attached storage to my media server. The drive does hybernate so there is some spin up time but nothing that would discourage me from buying the drive.

FROM 3 x 80GB to 4TB Best Buy I've made all year

It runs quietly, doesnt give off much heat and is fast enough to use as a media center. The WD backup software that is located on the storage device installs easiky and gives helpful support features that are potentially helpful for various backup scenarios: however, whenever the software indicated it was performing a backup it took hours to backup just a few files. I uninstalled the WD software and now do my backing.up manually. I've had no problems with the hard drive itself..

That concerns me because I have had 4 various sizes and brands die on me in the last 1 1/2 yrs . I haven't figured out why yet. 1 was 5yrs old and I expected it to die but the rest were new and 2 only lasted 1-2 months.
