When my home server died I needed a place to migrate all of my files, and four of these drives working within a mirrored Windows 8 Storage Pool more than gives me the space I need. It also gives me the security that none of my data will be lost. These drives perform very well, and i've yet to have a Western Digital drive fail on me without warning. Excellent product.

This was a very easy plug in & go experience as I had this setup in less than 5 minutes. It plugs in through one of your USB ports on your PC or MAC & then has a seperate power cord. The only issue that I have is sometimes it takes a few seconds for the folder to open when I'm looking at media stored on the external hard drive. Most of the files that I'm accessing though are pretty decent size videos so maybe that's the reason.

I bought this to expand the hard drive storage for xbox one and has been great for this use.

Set-up was quick (reformatted for Mac), back-ups are faster than older Seagate, runs silently. Just works perfectly (after two months).

usb 3.0, fast! good for backing up workstations and quiet.

I bought this in lieu of an internal drive to store HD movies. It's not as fast as come other drives, but it's quite and works well and is priced cheaper then internal drives. I have it working with an WD TV box which is nice. Before I had it connected to my PC. Can't beat it for the price and the best buy store matched the Amazon price which really helped out.

Plugged the drive into the Xbox and it found it and was able to format etc with no problems. Works great and hasn't had a single issue.

Is not compatible with WD's own media player. WD's Rep told me it's 4 Tera Byte drive is too large for there media player to recognize.

OK to I got this for my mac desktop. Works great looks nice. Only thing is I had to reformat it to work with my mac. Thanks to a YouTube video it's was done in 5min or so.

This product was quick and easy to setup; I've had no issues and it seems to be working perfectly. Great price for a good product.

I've used "My Book" external drives before and always had good luck with them and with the price coming down more all the time you just need to grab a big one and not worry about if you have space to back up your hard drive

I have used WD drive for a while and currently own 4 of these 4TB monsters. Everything has been working smoothly so far. Remember, they are hard drives, so always have a backup. Failure can happen even with a quality product.

This backup drive was exactly what I needed. It is compatible with PC and Mac. Also it was a great price for 4TB and Western Digital.

I have a regular backup routine to image the hard drive on several computers. This is a really reliable external hard drive ( I have several of the WD units) This is a unit that I can trust and rely on. This way I'm confident that I won't loose photos or data that I need. WD has a great warranty and a history of being reliable.
