    I was going to get the 2TB hard drive, but for $20 more.......yes......$20 more I bought the 4TB. It has tons more room for a few bucks more. This is the best one to buy........get it?.......Best Buy?

    Good for backing up all your files. Unfortunately it is not compatible with netgear's NAS setup, only the 3 tb HD is.

    I purchased this drive largely based upon a specific need for a USB 3.0 product with 4TB of storage. I've owned many WD internal and external HD products over time and have not had any drive failures to date over many years. I purchased this drive specifically as a backup storage drive attached to a Synology 1813+ NAS unit. This required a reformat to EXT4 as the drive comes natively formated in NTFS. The Synology NAS schedules backup to this drive of selected folder shares using the "Time Backup" software available from Synology. I'm not utilizing any of the software included from WD with this drive (backup, cloud, etc.) as the Synology NAS has its own software for each of these purposes.

    Bought this to replace a 4TB Seagate Backup drive that I wasn't happy with. This one seems to work a lot better it's quickly recognized by my devices and seems to function as it should. Haven't had it long enough to see how it does on the long term but I've never had a problem with Western Digital so hopefully it doesn't let me down. I purchased this to backup my PS4 and PS3 in case their HDD ever fail. I need a drive larger than the drives in each console (2TB in PS4 and 500GB in PS3) and this fit the bill. Got it formatted to FAT32 and preformed the backups.Transfer speeds seemed to be about as fast as they should be with the USB 3.0 the PS4 supports and obviously slower on the PS3's USB 2.0.
