I don't think I' ever seen something quite so plug and play. I had to replace a failed Seagate drive. I just plugged this one in and it took off working. Couldn't ask for more than that.

Purchased three of these to use to store large files. They perform at a decent speed and accomplished my goal.

It's on the slow end, but it's a great storage device if you aren't looking to pass it around all crazy like.

Bought this to use with my Xbox One to add additional storage. Works great with the system! Moved all downloaded games to the external hard drive, and couldn't be more pleased with the load time for the games. The only negative is the power cord is very then, which poses the threat of it breaking.

It is a good backup option for a good price, with a large capacity. Because of its size, it will take some time to copy stuff to it (I do not have USB 3, so it is worse for me). I can't say about long-term reliability, yet, but works great so far.

I have owned this drive and loved it so much - I purchased a 2nd one. It's very reliable and the speed at which it backs up is far superior to all other USB 3 back up drives that I use.

So far this has been a solid replacement for a seagate dud. Runs quiet though I do wish it had firewire 800 or thunderbolt input instead of the usb 3.0 (just a bit slow streaming my iTunes library).

I've had many My Book drives, and none have failed. Yet. Hope this one performs the same as all the others.

Western Digital has always been my favorite. Own 6 of these deive all works perfect. Never run into any issues I will highly recommend this product

Bought it for my son's Xbox one so be can install all his games.

I bought this external HDD to continuously create a backup of my photos as I load them in from my camera and also as I edit them. I also backup the database that I use to manage my photos. I just put it in a corner of my desk and ignore it until I need to recover a file that get deleted or lost. I had a bad experience with Buffalo NAS and chose WD because of the good reviews and the fast speed. I have a very slow internet connection so cloud backup isn't possible and using my network drive is not fast enough.

I got rid of my Seagate hard drive because I did not like the way I had to interact with it. So, I got me this WD MyBook External Hard Drive and am much more happy with the way it functions. Personally I like the WD MyBook for another reasons and this purchase did not me change my mind.

Works amazing when I partitioned it for my MacBook pro and iMac. :)

Having been a user of WD technology for many years, I find their devices have ease of use and provide the business solutions I require to protect my data and access it in a timely fashion.

I have so much storage space for my Xbox one works flawlessly with games having big install space you will need something like this. I will have this drive for a long time.

It was a good buy but the 5TB went on sale with lower price so I am returning this back to store.
