got this on sale at a great price. connected to PC at my Mom's house and using free CrashPlan software for remote (disaster recovery) backups sans monthly fees. silent, WD is reliable.

I highly recommend this hard disk, particularly to thos who are looking for a reliable product.

This was exactly the hard drive I was looking for at a better price than I could find anywhere else.

purchased this external storage to connect to my PLEX movie server. I have had hundreds of hours of hassle free usage. Transfer speeds are great. Price was affordable.

Purchased this to transfer my over 1000 movies too. 720 are complete with plenty of room left to finish. Very quick to load movie and start watching. Only disappointment was my cable connecting the drive to computer or tv has already gone bad. New cable was less than $10.00

Wil not use anything besides western digital. Toshiba & Seagate always disappoint with errors.

So far this hard drive is working well. The price was really good for a 4 TB hard drive. The only con would be the speed, sometimes. There are times when I click on the hard drive and it will take a little longer for the folders to appear. Other than that, it seems to be a solid purchase.

The first one I bought was actually bad. It was easy to return and exchange for a new one. I bought this for more storage for my Xbox One. Very easy set up and works well.

I have had another brand TB-3 fail after three years on two computers and I have used a WD-3TB for past 4 years and now purchased a WD 4TB and have been very satisified.

I transferred data from a smaller 1.3 TB to the 4.0. Unfortunately you cannot store 4 TB's.

This is a great inexpensive drive for storing thousands of photos and movies. The USB 3.0 makes transferring files super quick too.

I was looking into purchasing a external hard drive for my Xbox one i saw this on sale for $120 and couldn't pass it up unfortunately months later the hard drive is freezing my console and messing up not too impressed probably going to have to exchange for a different one

Not a bad External. Not big on the bloatware, and was hoping to not have the extra power supply.

More than one friend recommended getting this exact product for external storage space for my Xbox One. Pretty sure I will never have enough games to fill up all 4 tb.

This is my third WD external hard drive. My first was a 320Gb; my second was a 1Tb. I've never had a problem with either, so when my 1Tb was getting full, naturally I bought another WD. This hard drive is very fast when using a USB 3.0 connection. It has smart tech that not only puts it in standby when not in use, but also throttles the rotation speed depending on use to conserve energy. Will spin up to 7200rpm, so streaming media is not a problem (especially when using USB 3.0). I use mine as shared storage connected to my router and it works beautifully (I even run some games off of it). Thanks again, WD!

The only negative that I can point to is the time the drive takes in getting up to speed.

I trust Western Digital for all my storage drive needs. I'm not so keen on the reliability of Toshiba ones. 3.0 USB compatability these days is standard on new WD portable drives.

Had a external drive that I purchased 7 years ago , it was not working well on Windows 10 , purchased the MY BOOK to replace the Simple Share , the Geek Squad transferred the contents to the MY BOOK and it works very well , Has lots more memory than my Simple Share,
