Surprisingly fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They really should move the "power brick" from the outlet to the inside of the device--if Apple can fit one inside an Apple TV, WD can fit one in this. The USB cord is ridiculously short--what is this? 2 feet? All in all, though, it's super simple to use and surprisingly fast even for non-USB3.0-equipped Macs. It's reasonably stylish and very quiet.

The HD would not accept the link to the home desktop. I did some research through the WD website, tried the recommendations, and was able to solve the issue. Since then, the HD has been working fine and is being used as the external backup.

Great for novice

I skipped the first step to use as a continuing complete computer back up. Instead I manually select what items, mainly photos and videos, to restore space on my computer.

Great extra drive

I'm using it for my photography business as a backup for all my pictures. Transfer rate is quick and setup was easy. It's got a pretty big footprint, but not too big that it take up too much space on my desk.
