I bought this external hard drive roughly 2 months ago. I have backed up roughly 10-15 thus far. I am happy with the results. The first back up took a while, but every one since has not taken much time at all. It's quiet and hidden behind my monitor. Seems reliable. It was only $20 more than the 2TB at the time, so definitely worth it.

Super easy to set up on my older iMac. I'm only using USB 2.0, so the data speed is a bit slower. Once if get a newer system, I'll be able to take full advantage of the USB 3.0 speed. For storing my iTunes library, it works fine.

I've found Western Digital hard drives (both external and internal) extremely reliable in the past- so that's what I turned to when I needed a new external hard drive.

Hooked this up to my mac mini nearly a year ago and set up time machine. I have not had to touch it since the initial setup. Does its job like a workhorse.

Easy set up and works like a champ. Connects to my mac and time machines begins to working immediately. Great price range for a 3TB external hard drive.

I'm very happy with my WD hard drive. In my opinion WD is the most reliable of the hard drive companies. This particular drive has more than enough storage for all of my long videos and movies.

This was my second try with WD external HD products. My first drive had a USB problem that would lock up all USB devices randomly and not allow you to use them. I have several other internal WD drives currently in operation Red, Black, and blue that I have not had issues with. I used drive genie to copy my data to this drive and verify the copy then monitor the drive for errors. Once done the drive started loosing data and became unrepairable I wiped and returned to Best Buy. At this point I would recommend WD internal drive products but not the external ones.

This thing, straight out of the box, never worked right. Corrupted indexes, bad sectors - It is junk. I have 2 3 year old WD drives that are reliable and stable. I am done with WD after 20 years. That is 2 items in the last 3 months from them that have not worked as advertised right out of the box (a MyCloud and a MyBook). WD, dressing your drives up in pretty boxes but ignoring the content is not a good long term strategy. Good luck if you buy one. I hope you don't get a lemon.

Using this drive as a Time Machine backup drive with my 27-inch iMac. Plenty fast for that, easy to set-up.

This product does exactly what it says it will do. It's a really solid external hard drive. I love it to back up my MacBook!

Excellent product for the first 3 months then it quit. I was using "Time Machine" as the backup method. I had bought a WD since a SEAGATE drive had quit after only several months. The "Return" policy from WD is not great. You pay the postage for mailing back their defective unit. Would have been a lot easier to simply return it to the store and walk out with a new one. I bought it for $136 at BestBuy, it now is $119.

Ok product make sure you keep a backup for your backup. When it decides to go that's it.
