Fast, quiet, and easy to use for time machine backups.

I bought this to act as a personal cloud. Our router went bad and had to be replaced. Although I can access the hard drive within our Wifi system, when I try to log in from another site, it no longer works. I contacted their technical support and they said they couldn't help me, that I would have to contact the router company. It seems like a simple fix for WD, but they aren't helpful.

Hard drives has gotten larger over the years, but in my case, I coach football and like to keep game film separate. This is perfect for me because I can keep the HD quality without using storage space on my Mac. It is portable and has plenty of space for files, videos, pictures, etc.

Large storage space and very quiet. Easy to setup and use. So far flawless. Its my second one and I run them side by side. That's a lot of storage space that any photographer would love.

It's a good thing that it is simple to operate since the directions were very minimal - just plug in the wires basically! I would have liked a bit more instruction as to what was going on hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I wanted a simple back up for my computer so I could update the OS and that is exactly what I got. Everything worked just fine.

I use this MyBook for backing up my Mac computer. It is very reliable and easy to set up. It doesn't take up a lot of space on the desk and is easily transportable.

I had a hard drive crash on me and I was devastated - luckily I double back up! I then went to best buy and found this external drive and could not be more happy! Love that is already set to work with Macs so no reformatting was needed!

I needed a back up drive for my MacBook Pro. Works great. unpack it, plug it in, use it. Turn on Time Machine, point at it, done. I also attach directly via a Finder and store other misc files on it. Works great and it is quient.

Had the same drive for my Windows system at work and have no issues with it. Bought this when I purchased a new MacBook Pro. Fast, reliable and does what it is supposed to. Mainly saving large .RAW files and edited .JPGs on it.

My external hard drive backups everything on my Mac!! Now, I don't have to worry about my important pictures, files, and other documents!!!! It's really amazing!!!!

Has performed well since we got it. It is quiet. I never know it is there. It was a great value with 3 TB forunder $100.

Have been using this for about a month now. It's a great drive. I use it for all my video footage that I shoot. Never had any issues, runs fantastic. My only complaint is that it stands like a tower. I prefer the look of the g-raids better. But that's just a cosmetic thing.

So glad we bought this to store all of our pictures and videos on! It is super easy to use and now we don't have to worry about running out of storage or losing our pictures and videos!

Great product for the price. I was lookng into backing up my computer and this external harddrive had the best size and price. Looking over the reviews and my past use of wd harddrives I thought this was the best choice. Im a graphic designer and with large file sizes I wanted something that could hold all my files. Instead of three seperate external hard drives.

I just bought this external hard drive since my computer is acting up lately. I was worried if I could use it since I am computer illiterate. So easy to use-just plugged in and it guided me on how to download my entire computer for storage. Very large capacity. Now I don't worry if my computer crashes and dies since the external drive automatically downloads my computer a few time a week without prompting. Love it!!!

This external hard drive is super easy to set up and use. I hooked it up to my iMac and use the time machine app with it. The data is encrypted and password protected.

Purchased this drive after i rendered my other one useless by dropping it. Works seamlessly with my Mac, with built in protections for privacy, etc. Recommended.

I have two other WD drives and one finally took a dump after about seven years. So far I have had good luck with My books. Easy to set up and use for time machine.

Functions well for our large format pictures & files. Easy to set up & use. Only complaint is that I wish it were built a little tougher as our first tipped & broke. It was going to cost more to get it fixed then buy a new one.
