Easy setup, great value. Tons of space and easy to upload pics, etc.

I bought this because my Dropbox account was filling up and I wanted a way to access all of my files remotely from my iPad and iPhone. This product certainly fills the bill. I also setup a space for a couple of friends that only they can access (I don't even have access to their data). I mean, I do have 3 terabytes of space after all and can easily add move via the USB port on the back. This drive has really quick access both on my computer and over the internet. Fantastic purchase for the money. I would definitely do it again!

The installation of the device was very easy to do. The GUI was a little bit difficult to use. The Android app has NOT the same functionality as the Apple app, what's up with that?

I know with this hard drive i can take any and all information i need ANYWHERE from any of my devices! Made my life so much easier!

Excellent storage device for my home network. Works right out of the box.

It works as stated BUT, I keep loosing MY CLOUD and have to reboot the unit. It must be a software issue. I hope they fix it soon.

I've had this since February and it has worked flawlessly for backing up library items from several different computers. I have an app on my cell that gets me into the system as well with a pin number. Prior to this I had a Seagate 1tb GoFlex. The WD has been easier to work with, but to be fair the GoFlex was an older era of backup hard drive.

Needed another external HD to backup desktop. Love that I can also backup iphone photos to automatically also. Easy to setup and to use.

After I did the firmware update, it works perfect. I already have 200 gigs of movies on it and it works perfectly with my new netgear router.

My cloud works well when it works but seems to lose connectivity at random times. The software seems to be the culprit here. It did a firmware update right away which seemed to help somewhat but far from great.

Love this! Got it home and set it up in minutes! Works seamlessly between my macs, pcs, iPhones, and iPads. The wireless backup is a huge plus! All my files are automatically backed up without me having to think twice about it and they are all easily accessed anywhere in the free mobile app from my phone or through the my cloud website.

This product replaced E3000 router, which required resetting too many times for connecting devices. After multiple visits from Geek squad and cable company (upgraded my modem and tightened cable connections), it was suggested that I switch to this Netgear router. I was connecting two computers, 3 tablets, one bd player, Sonos bridge, solar system monitor, external hard drive, two printers and adding cloud storage. Switching to a more powerful router should resolve the connection problems. Geek squad set up my router, I tested every device and they all worked. But after an hour, the drvices started dropping. The situation was worse than before. I contacted Netgear support, first time in the evening,changed some settings, but the problem did not go away. My next call was around 8:30 am, but could reach tech support. All I got was a recording. I called after 9 and finally reached another human being. She connected me to her suprrvisor who walked me through changing a few router settings, upgrading the firmware, changing router name. Finally everything worked. Signal was stronger all over the house . I was one happy camper. I had to change ssid on all devices, but it was easy. Later I discovered that my printers were not connecting. Will contact tech support to solve that problem.

I've never had such an easy setup of a network device before. Not five minutes after I plugged it in and physically connected the drive to my network, I was uploading photos to the drive. The App works like a charm as well, anywhere there is a wifi connection you can access the drive. If you need a NAS, you can't go wrong here.

I have bought this for my small office with two PC's running Windows 10 Home edition. With the Windows 10 Professional edition, it is very easy to create a network shared drive. However, with the Home edition, you create a workgroup and can share folders. I prefer to share a drive between the two computers. The WD My Cloud drive is plugged into our Spectrum Cable modem/router and allows us to use it as a NAS or Network-attached storage drive. We can back up both computers continuously or on a schedule. We have also set up a common "user" where we store many of the same letters invoices and other templates that we both use. I highly recommend this drive if you realize that you do not have the same drive sharing that you used to have with older versions of Windows when you upgraded to a Windows 10 Home Edition computer or software level.

It works well for continuous back up of altered files, without my having to remember to back up files. Which is why I bought it.

Set up was a snap and with the extensive use it's received since I installed it it has only dropped a connection once. I can't imagine life before installing this and integrating it into our entertainment system. The only thing I wish it could do is play a few extra file formats that are still common. Some file formats also don't allow for FFW or RW.

we have multiple persons using the hard drive for backup. I like the remote access feature because my daughters are in college and can access their data from campus. As soon as I can I am going to configure the instant backup feature for everytime they log on in the home network. That way they wont need reminded to periodically store their data

The drive performs very well as a network storage drive. Some of the extra options like dlna and streaming hasn't worked for me and I'm working on it. My vlc app doesn't recognize my videos on the drive very well. Transfer is pretty quick. Sometimes I'll upload to the drive from the same network at speeds up to 10 Mb/s. Downloading from outside the home network works but it seems to be fairly slow even though my internet speeds are much much faster. Overall I like what this drive can do and only wish there were a few things better on it. The drive performs well and I'm happy with my purchase.

Well, I bought this as a backup drive for my iMac. It is functioning, however I had to consult Apple support after having conflicts with the software. I made the mistake of installing the package that came with the drive. Not necessary with the Mac OS and actually created some issues. It is working now but I do more manual backups than allowing "tiime machine" to do it for me. This was quite a bit less than the drive offered by Apple but a bit of a challenge to work out the bugs.
