I was looking for an alternative from iCloud and also needed to transfer all my data from my old macbook to my new one. The MyCloud is extremely easy to setup and I'm able to access all my content through the MyCloud apps.

I should say that MyCloud has made my life easier and made me feel safe with my personal data. I used DropBox and GoogleDrive etc. but I was always worried about the safety of my personal data because it was all saved in their own servers. MyCloud is a device which you put at your home and offers every feature that other cloud services offer. I can login to MyCloud from anywhere from any computer to access my stuff. All the pictures I take in my phone will be backed up to MyCloud automatically when I connect to WIFI. Many other features like FTP are also offered by MyCloud. Sharing the link to a file/picture/folder etc can be done easily to a friend in any part of the world. Awesome product and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Good storage option for multiple users. The default configuration - IMHO - is not very secure. There were several options automatically configured that I disabled to increase security. These options make it easy for novices to access the data from anywhere but they do not follow simple best practice security for any network. Bottom line: understand traffic from the device and lock it down

I love the My Cloud external drive. You can even use it for backups with Time Machine on the mac. It is well worth the money.

If you are in need of an alternative voidl cloud storage I would recommend WD my cloud. It's ease of use and user friendly app makes it very simple to store your pictures, videos and other files. Highly recommended.

Set this up in about and hour for use with my phone tablet and computer

This product is a very good product. I purchased it to use at my business so I can save documents from all of my computers and open documents on any computer. I have one off sight computer and I wanted to sync it also like the bestbuy rep said it will do eith no issue. That was wrong. You have to purchase drop box in order to do that. Not what I wanted but other than that its great!

I have had Western Digital external hard drives before and needed one with a larger storage. I like this one because I can access it with many devices and it makes it easy to transfer even from my phone.

The customer support makes the huge difference in setting up the increasingly complicated home networks we folks are going to these days. To get the most out of this extremely portable, lightweight 3 TB portable and personal "Cloud" device. The set up, in a step by step format is easily followed and if you get confused, the support line and literature available online will make the install smooth. Preexisting transfers of large amounts of data can be intimidating for the average user, resulting in underutilization of the amazingly large capacity drive in a small footprint unit.

I bought this because my hard drive crashed and I wanted something local for backup that I could access without being wired to it. Once I set it up through my computer, which was easy, I was then given so many options to access it that it became confusing. I had to download apps for my phone, my wife's tablet, her phone, etc. Now that it is set up, we back everything up so we have no worries. I can be on the other side of the world, backing things up to this drive. Absolutely recommend it.

Easy to install and easy to access all your personal or business files.

I have been waiting forever for the my cloud live. I do not want to place my things on someone else's "cloud"; as I am concerned about "hacking". SO, I wanted this product to have control over my own cloud. I had a My Book Live, which I loved, but wanted the ability to "SYNC" all of my files, pics, music, video, as well as everything I use for teaching that is stored on my micro-usb flash. It was easy to set-up and, like magic, it syncs everything instantaneously; no matter from which location I modify: It syncs it all; even through the micro-usb flash: Which is the best. I also bought one for my dad for his birthday. This is a must for any home AND it is your personal cloud.

Excellent product, easy to use and set up for multiple people to access. The app automatically syncs your pictures, wish there was an option to sync downloaded pictures, not just camera pictures.

Great price for a NAS. So far, I have tested reading and writing files to it both from my home network and from remote location, via Internet. Web based User Interface looks and works well. Have not put large files on it yet though. After a few days, a yellow LED started flashing. When I first noticed this, I connected and read a file, then flashing stopped. Later, it started again, and according to manual, it meant a temperature problem. It is in a well ventilated location, so I opened web configuration page, and found a firmware update was available. Installed update, and flashing stopped. It's been about 5 days now, so I hope that fixed it.

I like the storage and looks of this external hard drive.

Any file that is added to the My Cloud hard drive can be accessed from anywhere. While in another country, I was able to connect my Blackberry Z10 smart phone to a local WiFi source and show photos of our granddaughter to friends. We are still loading files to the device that will be useful when traveling. This device is very good value for the money.

At first I thought this was going to be difficult to set up and use because it is wireless. It was as easy as pie. I can access the drive from anywhere out of state. This is awesome!
