This little gadget is the lifesaver for every techy. Got two of them - one for schoolwork backup and the other for my finances. Love this Gadget!

Bought for a backup of my DJ Music...western digital very realiable have used for years on my pc and mac computers..only complaint is that their warranty length has decreased else a very good product...

Take it all with you. Install it on any PC or MAC you encounter. All in my jacket pocket. Great for legal documents rather than carrying huge boxes into the court. The world is changing.

Works great for the Xbox OneX. Had to plug in and unplug twice to get it to recognize the drive. Loaded Battlefront directly to this hard drive. Performs flawlessly when running the game.

I use WD passports for an extra automated backup system for computers I manage. I've only had 1 failure in over 50 drives and that one was covered by warranty. I would recommend this drive

I often buy externals and they have gotten more reliable in the last 5 years. Especially, WD!! However, I bought this drive at the end of November and within two weeks.. I hear the clicking of death inside the drive. I turned off my drive. I didn't use my external for a few weeks and the next few times of usage it seemed okay. I had an issue with it appearing on my desktop a few times when plugged in. Then another few weeks past and the EXTERNAL did not even show up on my desktop nor did the power light come on. Of course, by now... I have data on this drive that I need retrieve and GEEK SQUAD wanted to charge me around 3,000 dollars for this!!!! COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! I did buy the Best Buy protection, but unable to turn my drive in for a new one because I hope to still be able to get my data retrieved.

This was used on a Mac so had to reformat the drive, but after a simple process was available and works great. Unlike the drive it replaced there is no power supply, so installation was very easy.

I purchased this drive to be used for upgrading space on PS4 Pro. All I needed to do was plug it in and was recognized just fine. Format and go. I haven’t had any issues with it so far.

gawd I remember the days when a 500 mb (that's megabytes) dive was worth drooling over and these massive drives are great for massive video, eBook, photo and music backups now a days.

Portable hard drive works as designed and stores files and pictures as easily as moving them around my computer drive

Best Buy wants me to give this a review. So far, I can't complain one bit. I've owned this for a month and it has worked exactly as I expected it to work. I've been using it to organize my digital assets and with the space provided, it has helped me clear the clutter off my laptop and organize with ease.

I purchased this to copy large file to as a backup and quick access to these files. This device performs very well, and I still have it today.

We needed something to back up our files off our systems. However this turned out to be even better now if i go to another site we just take this to access files

The WD - My Passport 3TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black is a great back up drive! I use it to do a complete system backup with this compact drive.

The store was all out of the one I had and wanted to replace and the employee suggested this one and said it was the same thing just smaller which worked great!

Would recomend this product just based off the storage alone, works well with both os but not sure that its cross compatible so would only use it for one system

I would never use the actual backup software on something like this as retrieving it can be the issue. But for $100 this is an easy drag and drop x-tra, x-tra, backup

Western Digital has been a favorite of mine since the Raptor series, this drive does not disappoint. Is fast over USB 3.0 port and includes some diagnostic programs if problems arise.

I needed an external hard drive to free up space on my older computer. My Passport 3TD is just what I needed to hold many many pictures and videos. So far it’s working great!
