Reliable and affordable. Good choice for storage that doesn't take up too much room. Always a good idea to keep 2 backups of your essential files, so may want to get more than one drive. Good for video collections.

After doing some research online, I narrowed it down to 3 choices ( 1) WD_My_Passport (2) Seagate_Backup_Plus and (3) Toshiba_Canvio_Connect_II .... The most helpful Review was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0agEFO-q5Y by SPANdotCOM. This Review gave the complete lowdown with all the gory details. (The guy in the video spoke in an English accent and the the prices were quoted in Pounds, though). I could have gotten the drive cheaper somewhere else but BestBuy Online had the same day in-store pickup option. The people at the BestBuy pickup counter were helpful and nice despite being very busy. (The packaging on the drive looked opened/slightly dinged to me and he gladly exchanged it on the spot for a different one in the store with no argument.) And the final price was $5 lower then the price shown online due to a price change! I have used it for a little while now and everything has worked as promised.

This was the first of two "My Passport Ultra 2TB" external HDDs I've purchased. One is being used as external storage for a Channel Master DVR. Setup was simple and painless. The second one is connected to my Xbox One and they are both functioning beautifully as long term storage. Couldn't ask for a more dependable storage solution!!

I had a 'My Book' 500 gbytes storage for several years and then it started to act up. I needed to get something to backup my photos and important documents quickly so, I went to Best Buy and found this 2TB Passport storage for a reasonable price. I purchased it and it seems to be working just fine. Lots of storage for little cost.

This hard drive gives 2TB of storage in a compact size with no need for an external power source. The usb 3 connection provides decent data transfer rates for quick file transfers. The availability of different colors is a plus, it easily allows me to know what files are on which drive without having to plug it in.

This hard drive has incredible storage for movies, music, docs, pictures and more. It is very easy to set up and use. It's light weight, compact, and its at a great price. Great buy for students.

I bought this hard drive to go along with my xbox one. Don't worry if it does not say "for xbox" because all hard drive should work the same. It has plenty of space for future games and is very compact.

We needed a drive that could hold large amounts of data for movies and tv shows. This device was so easy to set up and transfer the data. My mom is not a technical minded person and she was able to easily follow the couple steps required to start transferring data and then easily retrieve the files when needed.

Picked up two of these for year end archiving of data. Decent copy speed and portability as well as price point. Won't really know how well they perform over time as I won't need to access the data on a regular basis, however I've used dozens of portable drives and the western digitals haven't failed me yet.

This drive is small, which makes it nicely portable. USB 3.0 makes transfers a lot quicker. My previous WD 500GB external drive has lasted me more then five years. My only request is that they come with a carrying case like they used to.

Had to upgrade the storage for my kid's Xbox One and grabbed this 2TB Hard Drive. It couldn't have been easier to hook up and I was able to quickly start downloading all the games they still had not opened because of storage issues. Definitely would buy another one and would recommend to a friend.

This is small, light and portable. And holds a lot of data. Perfect for shipping large files to clients.

I bought this portable hard drive so that I could back up my files externally, and it works great. It's small enough to bring with me when I travel, and it's just plug and play, so it's super easy to just plug it in with a USB cable and get the files I need. Definitely worth buying.

I have purchased about 30 of these WD- My Passports for backup/ storage drives for a large corporation. I have never had any issues with these hard drives. Great device at great price. Can't go wrong with these!

Our Xbox One is one of the 500gb consoles which we purchased prior to Microsoft manufacturing 1Tb consoles. The 500gb gets eaten up very quickly if you play a lot of games so we decided to add one of these. Not only does it provide a substantial amount of storage but games process much more quickly than the internal hard drive of the Xbox One. The 2TB was perfect for our needs and will allow us plenty of room for more games and downloads for long time down the road.

Purchased this for my son for Christmas with no issues so far. Easy install. Just plug in Xbox one and answer 2 questions.1) about configuration and 2) if you want this unit to be the default download location. Done in less than 30 seconds. 2Tb for $83 bucks. Great buy!

This is my third Western Digital external hard-drive purchased from Best Buy. The size of the box continues to nicely shrink, while capacity continues to increase. This was an excellent purchase for my needs.

Reliability and speed are really the only two factors I was concerned with when selecting an external HDD. This hard drive has turned out to be reliable, very quick, and was affordable. This was fully expected anyway but nonetheless, I definitely recommend this drive.
