I now own 8 of these drives (some are Elements), and all (knock wood), have been fantastic. Given the sketchy reviews of Seagate products, I stick with Western Digital. I've purchased many of their drives over the years, dating back to 160GB drives in the late 90's, and they've always performed well for me.

I needed a small form factor external hard dive and this drive fit the bill in spades. Works as advertised. No issues.

I bought this to have as a backup for my photography and videography gigs. I leave this one at home and take a 1tb version with me everywhere I go. Although it's not rugged enough to take a substantial fall, it's good enough to survive being tossed around in my backpack all day. I would definitely buy this again!

This drive is perfect for all of my documents and personal music and movies. Tip: if you are using this as a backup to all you document on a personal or company computer and travel to not leave cary in bag on work days. Bag was stolen along with all backup drives and unlimited personal items in Seattle Washington.

I've owned over 35 computers since the first Radio Shank TRS 80 came decades ago. I've always keep all my data on external hard drives. Over time I noticed that the Western Digital drives keep working when other brands were dying long before they should have. Now I don't use any other brand but Western Digital.

I purchased this so I could store all of my photos and videos that I have on my PC. This is the perfect size drive! I have been able to load all of my existing pics/vids and still have plenty of room for more.

This is my second WD Passport. First one with 2GB HDD. I don't use the included software, I just use it as additional storage. Works great. Always recognized by multiple PCs. Does not seem to draw much power, never an issue. Also works great with my Samsung 60" to play movies. You can't go wrong with it.

It had been a while since I bought a WD external hard drive and I was not sure, given the reasonable price of this one, if it would live up to the quality of its older models - it did and then some. Ready to go right out of the box, I am impressed with how reliable it has been. I couldn't be more pleased.

I purchased the WD - My Passport Ultra 2TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive in Classic Black for my Xbox One to increase the storage capacity. It has worked well. I transferred Fallout 4 and Quantum Break onto it, and was able to play them off of it. It does take a little longer to load the games.

I'm not sure whether it's useful to see a review saying just that a product works as it is supposed to, but we bought this external drive as backup storage, to pull down photos and other material scattered across a variety of laptops and other devices around the house, and it's served that purpose fine.

I bought this because my current computer doesn't have much life left and I had a lot I want to save - photos, videos, documents, etc. When I plugged it in, it was ready to use. No unnecessary things to fill out, etc. I like it. 2TB is more than I will ever need but for the price, why not? lol

I purchased this drive to replace another Western Digital drive as my primary Lightroom catalog disk. The old 1T drive is still chugging along fine after 5 years of continuous use, and will get repurposed for something less critical. The new 2T WD drive is very noticeably faster, and feels solid and well-made despite its plastic case. The only reservation I have is the relatively short and not very robust-looking USB 3.0 cable that is supplied with the drive.
