I bought this external as a backup for my Xbox One, extending the 500 GB hard drive of the console by another 2 TB for my digital games collection. It easily plugs into the USB 3.0 port, and is fast to format and store data. I'm able to play games off of the external without a problem, which was the main reason I purchased it. I also have a Western Digital as the Time Machine backup for my Macbook Pro, and it has worked great for the past few years. My dad, an IT expert, says you can't go wrong with Western Digital, and I'd have to agree!

I have been a big fan of WD since many years. This is my third WD HD. I like the compact size of this drive. Its portable and lightweight.

Great drive and portability! I use this drive as a back up for my PC. I highly recommend that you use the provided encryption! I have misplaced small hard drives in the past and it's an excellent peace of mind knowing that your data is secure if the drive falls into the wrong hands! The only one that get on this drive is me. This is actually the third Western Digital Drive of this model that I have purchased for various back ups… I believe that you go with what works and has not let you down past; this drive just works!

I needed a large backup drive and have used this brand in the past. It was inexpensive, it does not require an external power supply because it draws from your computer's USB port. It is fast, especially fast using USB3. I reformatted for use on my MAC and was so happy with performance I bought a second one for my PC! Small, compact, perfect.

This compact hard drive is perfect for photos. It is very easy to use.I really appreciate that there's no additional power cord needed. I also like the fact that the drive comes in several colors. I have a blue drive and a red drive.

Totally simple to use. Expanded my x box ability. Small in size big in performance. Accidentally drop it on the floor. No problem.

plug 'n play, small, and compact - I use as temporary until backing up (again) onto larger Seagate. This gives me double-backup.

USB 3.0 2TB...it just works :) Great for storing stuff, just be careful when you have it connected that it doesn't move too much.

Good little drive with 2 TB of storage. I like portable drives for backups since there's no power transformer to keep with it.

The main problem I always had with external hard drives that had a great deal of storage was they weren't portable or they were very expensive. This was the perfect combination of size, portability, and price. It works well and is easy to travel with. I keep all of my movies and music on here and haven't had any problems

I was looking for a reasonably priced expansion hard drive for my Xbox one and the same to fit the bill based on opinions online. It plugged and played without difficulty. The Xbox did need to reformat it so that it could be is for games instead of music and videos. I recommend looking online for a video explanation as far as how to do that with the Xbox, since it wasn't completely intuitive using the current Xbox operating system. Otherwise it was perfect and works for why I bought it.
