First of all, I will admit I am biased towards WD drives. They have never given me issues, whereas Sanyo and Maxtor have given me anywhere from a few to many issues over the years. This WD was no exception to my experience. It worked great, Windows recognizes it without a big install, it is fast, and it has great backup software included that automatically backs up files from my 2 TB internal drive. This product is, simply put, an easy upgrade that even a non-geek can get right the first time. I have been through a lot of drive crashes over the years, but never with a WD. This is my third Passport, only because I outgrew the others. I doubt I will outgrow this baby anytime soon.

Gave as gift to Grandson, a graduate student in Computer science. He researched it and requested it. No complaints so far.

I use the External Hard Drives with my DVR to save programing that I want to keep. Western Digital makes the best in various capacities. I needed a two terabyte for my system to function properly.

This is my fourth one of these. Not that they keep failing but on the contrary I bought one for every computer in the house and got one for my parents to back up all their accounting information on.

Purchased drive for backup of personal computer. It works very well and having the ability to encrypt the drive with the WD Security app provides additional peace of mind that my data is secure.

This drive is as fast as UBB3 allows, quiet, and at 2TB a good size for backups. The software included works on my PC and it works fine with Apple Time Machine (a second one of these I have).

Upgraded to windows 10 and lost a lot of data. I did not have an external hard drive. Now I do. Not being a "geek", I found this to be a very easy install and set-up. Also, nice portable size.

I got this to transfer large numbers of files from one computer to another when we purchased a new computer at my workplace. It performs flawlessly and I will use it as a backup tool as well.

Needed a reliable storage solution for my XBox system that was running short of disk space. This works great and was easy to add to my system.

Got this to back. Up my main PC. Very fast over USB 3.0. Time will tell how it holds up. Large enough to hold multiple backups. I still plan to use 2 of these and alternate in case one fails.

You just plug this drive in, and your backups are done without any further intervention by you. Size isn't a problem because the footprint is small. Definitely a must have for any Windows PC.

Ipreviously purchased this model before and was in the market for another, so I bought another but in blue. I am satisfied with this product because the older one is still functioning as well.

The WD external hard drive is easy to set up and fast with the use of the 3.0 USB capability. Now I can back up my files, store music, and take my docs everywhere. I highly recommend to buy.

2TB external drive for under $100? YES PLEASE! What's more to say. Western Digital drives are solid and last for years. You'll have plenty of storage space for movies, pictures and documents.

I needed to back up my computer hard drive and was just burning CDs by the dozen. The unit is password protected and 2 T storage capacity works well for my music, movies and pictures.

This is the second one we have bought. We take lots of family videos and pictures. We bought the first one about 5 years ago. So there was no questioning buying the same product again.

First one arrived DOA but bestbuy exchanged it with no problem. New one works flawless with my xbox one.

I travel a lot and use this on the road to transfer and store photos and video until I can upload them. I use it with a Toshiba Netbook and a retina MacBook Pro. Transfer speeds are better on the MacBook, obviously, but is also quick on the netbook. I recommend if you travel with this to use a case for it.

The soul reason for this purchase was for a small backup drive with out having to spend big bucks on a thumb drive.

It was very easy to port pictures from my computer to this hard drive. I haven't tried to retrieve those pictures yet though but I'm sure it'll be just as easy as it was to transport them.
