I bought this about a month ago to store photos from my old phone before trading my old phone in. This thing does exactly what you expect. First you plug it into your Mac and you download its little software. Then you can start dragging and dropping stuff into it, make folders, what you would expect. The only thing that worries me is the life expectancy of it. I've seen stories from people of it suddenly not working one day. I guess I can't expect the world from a relatively cheap external hard drive, but it's just always in the back of my mind. The feel of it doesn't instill too much confidence either, mostly smooth plastic. But like when backing up anything, you should always have a back-up for your back-up lol.

This item was necessary for me to keep up with extra applications and files without keeping them loaded on my Mac. As a teacher I have a lot of items I use year to year so needed this for extra storage. Works great. It’s is lightweight and easy to carry around with my computer.

Easy to use with macbook, connect it using the usbc and can start right away to store stuff onnit, can store videos from obs studio, games and files, and can store videos from photos etc.. reason i got it was to store videos from recording obs studio when playing games and recording gameplay and worked great, if planning to switch between pc you can easily recode it to exfat to use between both

Works great,easy to use and allows for extra storage! I edit videos and have music programs that I use. This external harddrive allows me to safely save my projects without overloading my computer. It also gives me peace of mind knowing my work is backed up. Would 100%recommend

Bought this because I had a sandisk SSD before that gave me issues, never had an issue with this since I’ve bought it over a year ago. I use this WD Device to store everything from raw and edited photos and videos for my business!

This device was easy to use. I picked one up for my new 16 inch MacBook Pro. I needed larger storage than the one I currently had. I use this for my time machine backup. I suppose you could partition it, but I haven’t. It’s small and light weight. Quiet too.

Comes with all the cable. Plug in and automatically back up. Spin silently as it back ups.

Great product. I like the fact that it's already configured for Mac. It was easy to set up (Macbook Air 13" M1 2020), and easy to use. Price point could be more competitive (comparing price at Best Buy versus other online and in-store retailers). The experience to purchase it online and pick it up curbside was seamless and very easy and smooth. Just had to wait like 5 minutes at Curbside and right there I had the product right away. No need to wait 2 days shipping, or go inside the store. The WD brand is great, it's a high quality, sturdy product, and I know I'll have this item for years to come. Overall, great experience with this product! Highly recommended.

Descriptions indicate it is all ready to go for Mac. Not the case and the instructions are not clear. After a bit of trial and error, we got the correct download to make it work. Once working it's great.

Using this for backing up my Mac using Time Machine. It sets unobtrusively and silently behind my monitor where I am barely aware of it, but it quietly does its job backing up everything on my Mac.

Fast and compact, this drive is easy to travel with, and has a ton of storage.

I replaced an older unit that had seen better days with this new, larger-capacity external drive for handling backup. So far so good. It's quiet and seems to be doing its job. That's all I could ask for. I like WD products. They are the most reliable and resilient in my opinion.

It's hard to find anything compatible for Apple devices such as MacBook Pro or Air. Thankfully things like this exists. And for what this external hard drive is, it works very well and can support a lot of RAM.
