This WD Passport is a perfect backup hard drive for me, as it has room for everything in one place and is easy to use. The 3.0 makes it faster. Plus, it looks nice!

WD makes awesome drives. The size of this drive a major bonus. User for a migration at work was under use for 72 hours of continuos data transfer and didn't skip a beat.

This drive is small, sturdy and easily portable which eliminates the risks inherent in the loss of a computer crash.

I like Seagate drives but a Seagate USB 2 TB drive left me high and dry. I bought a Seagate 3 TB drive which failed when first plugged in. So I bought three of these WD 1 TB drives. I think more than 1 TB creates problems. The 1 TB WD drive doesn't require a power supply separate from the USB cable which makes it simple. Easily stored in your pocket, this looks like the real deal.

The drive looks great and has so much room available! It was a great deal and I'm really pleased with the purchase.

As always a Western Digital hard drive never disappoints! If you're looking for a nice reliable hard drive for a decent price this is the hard drive for you.

This unit is small in size, but packs a punch for capacity. I downloaded my entire-and very full-C Drive of videos, pictures and songs to the Passport, and barely nicked its total memory. It was super easy to hook up to my Alien laptop and worked immediately. It tucks out of sight behind the laptop and I highly recommend it. I'm buying a second for my Xbox.

The drive was recognized immediately and worked as advertised. The case is beautiful and the noise levels are very low. The drive heats up a bit and I would not recommend putting it on an insulated surface (blanket) as it might overheat. The actual transfer rates are very good (USB 3.0) but the seek times are only average. The transfer rates plateau at 512KB block sizes. I would recommend this drive for backups and for hosting virtual drives with large block sizes. Nto a problem with this unit. Very easy install, and works equally great with my flex tablet or desktop. Nice looking design and shiny metal finish.

I had purchased another product and felt it was not what I needed,after doing additional research.I opted for the Passport it is easy to utilize,priced right I give it a ++ rating. (the metal case is a added plus. Would recommend This

I used to work on CDC-300MB removable cartridge drives the size of a desk.now I can put 3000x the data in my pocket. Excellent and solid product for backups, data transport, off line storage, etc.. Great for laptop use, USB powered, fast. Now I can take my entire server image with me instead of needing a net link. Don't leave home/office without it.

I bought the metal edition, even though it is a little more expensive. It looks awesome! Very efficient and fast with the USB 3 cable.
