Bought this to use for file backups. It's nice having an external HDD that is USB3.0, transfers files quick and easy. I don't really care for the WD software that comes on their HDDs for managing files and backups. I ended up reformatting and setting up my own partitions to suite my needs. Works great though and looks good too.

I use this for any and all information I use or create at work. It is safe and easy to transport and it looks beautiful. It's very well priced and doesn't get overheated or anything like that.

I was doing a restore on my computer and needed to down load my importent photos and documents. My WD Passport did it all, my files are now safe in sound. This was the first time I have used an external hard drive. I have always backed up my files on disc's, and I still have all kinds of space on my 1TB WD....

Really do like this backup hardfile. I bought it for my surface and so far it has done what it needs to do. A salesperson at Best Buy suggested it and I really think it's easy to use and have had no problems at all with it. Thank you!!!!

My PC mother-board fried, and had to back up the hard drives inside. 1Tb was more than enough to back up the 2 drives I pulled out. Drives still work, but now I feel more safe, since I backed up everything. I have other WD products, and WD has never given me any problems.

Sleek design that is easily transportable. Plenty of storage and the price is reasonable. Would buy again, as WD puts out consistent quality with external storage hard drives.

I purchased the external hard drive to use after I discovered my computer had a virus. I was able to move all of my files to the external hard drive drive. Clean my computer of the virus and had no problems.

I love the size of this external hard drive. Its got a nice color. I ordered a case for it because the texture feels like it will scratch easy. My older hard drives had a power adapter which was annoying to carry around two plugs for the hard drive. This one gets its power from the computer its attached too.

I originally went with this drive when looking at external drives because it looks so darn cool. The other drives work just the same, but if you want a little bit of extra cool factor, and don't mind paying a little more, this is your drive!

Purchased this hard drive as a back-up device for my daughter's computer. Works like a dream, and she loves the look. Easy to set up and use. Has more capacity that she will ever need (that is, unless, she uses it to download all her selfies!).

When purchasing any external memory device, the biggest keys to having a successful experience are the device matching the purpose, and the device meeting the standards stated on package/marketing. I purchased this external drive for my Xbox One, which was in need of storage space due to the way it installs games. The device has a very solid, premium feel to it. There is no cheap feel to the drive itself, nor the cables that accompany it. That's a little important to me because it is designed to be a mobile accessory. It has the look and feel of quality. I haven't used the drive in any situation or environment other than Xbox One expansion. In that case, formatting was quick and seamless, and the read and write speeds are definitely USB 3 compliant. I have installed 3 games on the drive so far, and played them seamlessly in an online environment without any issue. Very useful in both a mobile and stationary situation in my opinion.

EXCELLENT external disk to store files, which will be used in different units, now I can connect to my smart tv and see different stored items such as photos and videos. The good thing is that it is very comfortable to carry anywhere
