WOW - this is an amazing battery powered device. It automatically uploads all the 'new' photos from my camera's SD cards. This allows me to take more frequent periodic backups of photos - w/o having to figure out which have been copied etc... filed by date for easy recovery.
The battery seems to last quite a while (I've only had it for a few days) and it will charge my iPhone - although again I have only tested it - no real long phone charges yet...
one con - the cable used to attach it to the charging device (or a PC/Mac) is a USB 3.0 w/Micro B end - yet another different cable in my kit.

It was quirky to set up and use. It does work well for mobile downloads for a camera and as a power bank.

I can download directly from my camera, and I can stream directly to my iPad. There's plenty of room to have all my photos in one place for a reasonable price.

I purchased this unit to serve as a Plex media server. It took a bit of time to get it set up, but once it was ready, it's worked beautifully.

Now this is truly amazing. I had previously kept my eye on the amazon data bank for ps4. However since I heard of that the data bank was unsatisfied to most customer i decided to look elsewhere. To my surprise this WD drive is exactly what I was looking for. It's very easy to install and set it up with your ps4. You need to do 4 things, connect the cable to the WD drive, then connect it to your ps4, then sync the data with your ps4 and the drive. Lastly hit ok and your set to go.

This is just what I needed when I am travelling and don't have to have a laptop or PC to download my SD Cards from my camera. This allows me to save my photos and use less SD Cards. It was just what I was looking for, with plenty of space. I only use this when travelling, so don't need it as a day to day external drive. The only thing lacking would be a small screen to view the photos; however, it gives you good indications that photos have uploaded correctly. It can also plug directly to a Laptop or PC, should you need a small external drive while away from home base.

Thus is really great if you are a casual photographer. If you keep lots or shoot in the raw it works but your space is highly limited. Also it is pricey, but at the same time it’s hands off you plug and go the photos get transferred to the drive; which is super nice.

I needed an option to offload SD cards while traveling and did not want the bulk of a computer. This hard drive can be controlled w a phone or tablet thru the use of an app. Since the SD card plugs directly into the hard drive the transfer speed was excellent. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my photography hobby. Had a SD card slot and built in wifi and more than enough storage space. I backed up my photos from my laptop and since I believe all hard drives will fail at some point, I backed things up to another portable drive.
Sure enough, this drive failed. I charged it, tried to reset it, reboot it, tried to access it from my MacBook, my phone, my wife's laptop with no success. Unfortunately when it failed was just outside of the return time. My loss. Hopefully if you choose to buy one of these you'll have better luck.

I wanted a device I could take with me on my vacation to back up photos and videos from my camera and GoPro. I didn't want to take a laptop with me on our flight so I began looking for a solution. I came across this drive which fit the bill perfectly. Pop in the SD card and push the dedicated button and it begins the backup process. You can configure the drive to either copy the data or move the data (files removed from SD card to create space.) I can't speak of the other features since that isn't why I decided to purchase this drive.

Highly recommended for photographers and videographers.
Don't expect much speed from the WIFI component but it does work.
also not sure how much amps it puts out to charge, but i dont charge from that source anyways.
The battery does last all day with wifi, (10 hour workdays)
Enjoy

Since IPhone and IPad don't have ways to store pictures and videos on hard device, this product does the job. Hooks up wirelessly. Only complaint is you need to log in wireless every time you turn on your iPhone or iPad. And also a bit overpriced but I am very happy with what it does.

I was able to take the SD card out of my camera, place it in the Passport and it automatically copied photo's off the card - no PC required to transfer data, no power cord required. I didn't think I would use the WIFI capabilities but it was really nice connecting to my photo's when a USB cable wasn't an option. I will also confirm that I was able to get a charge from the device's battery for my phone when I was on a bus tour.
