Best Buy had a good price on this 4tb WD Red Drive. It is made for nas boxes like Qnap and synology, as well as servers running 24x7.

The WD RED series NAS drives are close to bulletproof; though, that is not a literal statement; so, please don't test the validity. Run these drives in a 4bay Synology DT Server, and they are awesome. Not super fast, but not slow either. Use four others as safe-stored backups...just in case. Used them for years, gazillions of read/writes over a dozen users...never had one fail. I don't have anything to compare them to because I haven't had a reason to try anything else. These do the job well.

Great for mass storage of photos. Good price for a lot of storage.

I never have enough space. I backup like crazy, sometimes I have so many duplicates I get confused as to what is master and what is a backup. I hope this helps. I chose the 4TB WD Red (NAS) for reliability. 5400 RPM almost stopped me from the purchase but all is PLENTY fast. I think this would be a SUPER 2nd drive for those of you going the SSD route. I'm waiting on a sale to pick up another. Remember, I backup everything.

I've been using Western Digital, forever now. Their products are great. I'm glad they bought out Hitachi and their drives got much more better in quality. This drive........Yes buy it, use it internally or get a shell and make an external.

I bought these to putt in a new NAS enclosure. They were really quick to set up and initialize. They have been great within the enclosure, although I haven't run any diagnostics to check access rates.

I built my Hackintosh and needed something to hold all my Windows side of it (dual boot) and this came in handy! I'll never run out of space. Although it's not the fastest write speed, it gets the job done!

The drive is fast for a NAS drive. No issues so far. Lots of storage for the money when on sale. If you need a SATA drive for a NAS enclosure, this will be just as good as any other.

I got this drive for my NAS and am looking forward to trying it out. Western Digital is a great brand and I got a good deal on this 4TB drive in one of Best Buy's Deal of the Day.

Picked this because the description was clear enough and I would be sure it would be compatible with my WD NAS EX2 Ultra. The Drive was required to get the EX2 set up, it wouldn't perform as an empty server with USB attached drives.

This is a very reliable drive. Along with WD's warranty this is a great option for setting up a NAS or any other situation where you are setting up drives in RAID.

This is the RED drive for use in movie storage and energy efficient. Large size and solid hard drive. Going to use to stream movies and fast. Great harddrive.

I’ve had 4 of these drives for 2 years now in a NAS and they have been great. Still quiet and quick. No complaints.

Drive came in a box well packaged, fitted in the required lovation and works exceedingly well. Definatly does the job it is supposed to do.

In spite of WD having a spattering of unhappy purchasers lately, I'm "Happy So Far!" Bought 2 of these to be used as off-line storage, so perhaps they will hold-up. tested them for 2 days without issues.
