I have a decent sized storage server (24 4+ tb drives). I've been slowly moving from more consumer drives to more enterprise drives. So, far these have been fast, consistent, and reasonably priced. I have four so far and no issues.

I trusted Western Digital brand based on my experience. Hard drives actually do last but all will eventually fail after a few years so we need backups of course. Some fail sooner, some fail longer than the manufacturer's expected lifetime. This is the first time I'm getting the hard drive designed for NAS type. I hope this lasts longer than a standard hard drive.

Purchased a couple of these drives to use in my NAS and they have been working perfectly. Read/write speed is faster than most people need but for NAS use, lower power consumption and reliability are priority. These drives are designed exactly for that and definitely deliver. I compared to other NAS drives and decided on the WD Red line because of lots of positive reviews and long-term usage.

I have only had this drive for a couple weeks, but so far it's been working very well. It's been very quiet, which is an improvement over my older HGST drives. I'm using it in a Synology, which I reinstalled the OS in an attempt to fix some other issues. Access has been much faster since installing the new drive, although that's probably due to the reinstall.

I'm using this for my home/office Synology NAS and so far so good! I guess it's only as good as the server software you're putting it on and monitoring it with? It's fairly quiet as any other quiet hard drives on the market. Recommended by a friend whom I trust a lot and works with these hard drives on a daily basis.

WD RED 4TB drive came packaged very well and works as expected. I had a chance to meet a rep at a conference and after researching found this to be one of most reliable and used in NAS type devices and I wanted something of quality for my back-ups. Great drive and I plan to order another soon.

I will not use any other HDD than Western Digital. These Red drives are designed to be used 24/7. I put 2 of these with 3 other WD drives in a RAID 5 configuration giving me 14.5 TB of useable space. Sometime soon I will build another 5 HDD RAID 5 for off-site backup.

I use four of these drives in my Synology NAS. They typically run about 93-97ºF, a good 10-15º cooler than higher speed 7200 RPM drives. Cooler the drive, longer it will last. They are also very quiet. So I am quite pleased with my purchase.

Love these hard drives. I added this one to my current array for 4 drives total. The other 3 drives have been running rock solid for the past 4 years with zero issues. Drives are healthy perform well.

I have been using WD red drives for NAS Purposes for many years. The warranty coverage is more than accurate as 85% of my deployed red drives have outlasted the warranty. Usually by several years. And on the several occasions that the drives did fail before warranty coverage ended, the replacement process is extremely easy. You just need to go to the western digital website and submit the serial number for an RMA to ship to drive back for replacement.

Purchased two of these drives for my NAS, speeds reach near 1Gb in a mirror RIAD. Runs a little loud and warm, so keep that in mind when using this drive.

Great NAS drive. Currently using 5 in my Synology....longest one has been running for about 3 years and I'm still waiting for it to crack. Doesn't seem like they want to though,.
