It just plain works. We have 3 of them.. We stream from a WD MyCloud with minimal issues. Occasionally you have to reset. My two complaints are that it will not stream amazon prime and it does not maintain the marking of viewed items after being turned off or reconnecting with the server. Still give 5 stars nothing else comes close!

Have used WD boxes for ages. This new version adds WiFi to the mix which makes things nice. Only box that will play all of my media formats! Great box.

We purchased this so that we could watch movies from our video library. I little difficult to set up at first, but very easy to use once you understand how it ties into you tv.

I already own a Roku 3 which is amazing, but it cannot play back my .ISO files which is what I have 350 movies saved as. Rather than spending hours upon hours converting the ISO files I decided to purchase this WD Device. For what I'm doing it's working almost perfectly. I put the unit on my same workgroup and it saw the share from the server. I was able to view every ISO file and add them to the unit's library. It even pulls down movie poster art and reviews, etc. Pretty nifty. The only downside is the unit will "forget" the path of the shared drive even after you've just viewed a file in that drive. One time the video wouldn't play and the unit wouldn't respond to any remote commands. I had to actually unplug the power and plug it back in. After that it worked fine. The until has pure garbage for apps, No Amazon Prime, No Hulu Plus, no Netflix. No idea why it doesn't have these basic apps but that seems ridiculous. I'm using it strictly to play back ISO files and when it's agreeable it plays them back perfectly.

Use it all the time. Easy set up and works great with WD drives!

Works pretty good so far. It was super easy to set up. Been very pleased with this purchase. I was just looking for a unit that would stream videos, pictures and music.

Awesome product. Highly recommend for playing movies that are downloaded from internet

I have many of these, they work great. much smaller then a HTPC but the new OS is missing some streaming options of past OS's that will be missed.

This device reads all of my media and even adds art and info on any file that I may have. Very nice layout.

Replaced older version with this one. Even better. Plays everything I throw at it and has more apps.

Works great. Plays all media types so far. But does not work on any hard drive larger than 2TB

It streams and plays back most every encoding of videos. The USB port to directly attach a hard drive is perfect and works without skipping even on 1080p 10bit encoded files. The network streaming is flawless on the box side, but you need a strong router signal for best quality

The WD Media Player is the best. I gave it to my brother for Xmas him and his wife love it.

I bought this player for my mother as plays any video file you throw at it. Literally! ANY VIDEO FILE!! I have one at home and love it!! Its the only one I will use. Only one problem. I cannot get the Hulu Plus app on this machine. I have called WD multiple times, troubleshooted it with them, I have reinstalled the firmware, etc etc etc. They keep telling me the box is defective, but when I took this one back, and bought another one, it had the same problem. The Hulu Plus is just missing!! I must be doing something wrong, because it clearly has a picture of Huluplus on the box and says its compatible. I guess thats why BestBuy has a clearance on it. I still kept the player because it is excellent for everything else. I cancelled Hulu Plus and told my mother she could not watch it anymore, because the executives of NBC and ABC wanted her to watch it on her directv box instead! ;-)

We use this box to watch movies, the new features like blue tooth remote from you phone was a nice upgrade. We often take it on travel and forget the remote. It is compatible with many different file types.

I bought this and did not know what to expect. This works awesome.
