I bought this because Western Digital is no longer manufacturing them. Unlike other players, the WD plays back almost any codec you can throw at it. It also comes bundled with other programs and will play your video, music, or picture library across your home network. Hulu no longer supports the WD's but you can get a ROKU device that will. WD has a better Mirroring capability than ROKU and plays more codecs. This unit was bought to use a a replacement if//when my other three quit working.

It's probably me, but I can't get it to work. I was able to move files over my over my wireless network to an attached hard drive right after I set it up but now i can only delete them from the drive. Will keep trying. Still happy I bought it.

Don't buy, it doesn't have any of the advertised apps and horrible user interface..I returned it the very next day and bought Roku, it's like switching from an old BlackBerry to iPhone 6.

Both WD products are still running strong. It's a shame they don't make any of these products anymore. Dec. is now when Netflix will not support this device anymore. So back to the fire stick for now. I still use the hub for my own media and music stations. But not much else is supported. I did recommend these products to many friends that bought them.

A little slow to load when it comes to movies however once they're playing the movies are extremely clear, plays blue day movies as well. Amazing product in the long run.

Great product to have all pictures and videos play on the TV.

If you have a lot of personal media, this is the way to go. No nonsense and plays everything you throw at it (mkv, mpg, avi, etc.) even DVD files(with DVD menu). This newly release adds Miracast and removes Netflix, but I am pretty sure you have plenty of other devices that have it and more (Roku, Gaming consoles, Fire TV, Smart Tvs, etc.)

my brother has this as well as some places i visit for work, it works well, good interface. I chose the My Cloud though for the fact that i could do the same thing thru my tv interface and my ps3 interface. not as seamless I'll admit but still worked well, also i was able to access the cloud from other pcs or my iphone so no need to clutter my phone with that stuff anymore. if your tv is not compliant with hdnet or any net whatever its called then this is perfect. if it is compliant then just go for the cloud, more storage and more access

With the WDTV, I was able to complete my media setup with my surround sound unit. There is nothing like a great digital sound, and the WDTV made it possible.

Easy setup,great features for the price. Used unit one time and didn't work after that. Very disappointed.

I have been using WD - TV Media Player for many years and have a large library of movies on HDD. Convenient and easy to use.

Easy setup user friendly and best part it except more USB formats then any other system . Which in my opinion makes it better then the Roku 3 which I also own.

I needed something to play video's of different file types than the standard, common ones. This happens to play all of the extra ones that I needed and filled the void completely. I would recommend this product to anybody needing a similar item.

I had been looking for a device like this to Stream my video's to my my TV. This works just great and recognizes the most popular video formats.

It plays videos and will access certain sites on the inyernet but it could be smother to operate

Has good sound and does not skip. Headphones are decent. Has FM radio only. Overall good value compared to other brands, Sound is better than previous player this one replaced. Also comes with remote and plays MP3 Files when on a disc
