The WeMo switch will activate a power outlet based on user commands from a smart phone, a programmed time schedule or an IFTTT command. The IFTTT (If This Then That ) commands are initiated using web based logic. The WeMo insight switch is controlled via the WiFi connection in your home. It can measure and report on power consumption and cost for plugged in devices. The problem that I've had with the device is erratic operation. It turned on and off many times for no reason. When I called WeMo for technical support, they asked me to push a reset button for 30 seconds to reset the device. When I said that the reset didn't function properly, I was dropped from technical support. I was able to reset the settings using the smart phone app and this cleared the problem. I think that this is a neat product but tech support is poor. I need more time to determine if my problems were a one time event or a more serious issue.

The Belkin Wemo Insight Switch is easy to set up and use. Right out of the box (after set up), you can have home automation without a central hub. All you need is wi-fi. It's a great place to start and adding more switches is as easy as the first. Aside from basic timer functions, it has the ability to track power consumption and follow rules based on usage. The wemo can integrate with other Belkin devices and with IFTTT to add more functionality. Throw in compatibility with popular hubs and all the bases are covered. The Wemo Insight is a great automated switch for those new to home automation and those with established systems.

I bought this initially to operate one living room lamp, but since it has the power measurement feature, i felt it was being underutilized. I moved it to connect my living room tv and sound bar. It works like a charm! Besides, i can control my tv with Amazon Echo, so i just ask "Alexa, turn on TV". It also helps to schedule time device it's on, whenever you don't want to spend more than couple hours watching tv or not letting your kids turn it on before certain time, you can easily program that with the website or app interface.

I am happy that I now own the WeMo Insight switch. Compared to the older switch, this one was much easier to set up and it gives you important data. This switch will help you determine how much you are saving and if you get into the scheduling, you will be able to determine the best times for use. The wifi settings are great and the use of IF is helpful. I think there is space for an upgrade, but I am pleased.

Easy to install (plug it in). Easy to configure (download the app and answer a few questions). Enable via Echo or Echo Dot and voila! Alexa can control your appliance! Scheduling feature is really nice! Only draw back is that the plug is oversized and does limit what else can be plugged into the shared outlet.

I was given three WeMo plugs for Christmas. It is so nice to be able to sit outside in my truck and turn all the lights on in the house and not have to enter a dark house. This is a fabulous product extremely easy to set up. Download the mobile app and control the lights from your smartphone when your in WiFi range.

I had some issue with the first WeMo Insight I purchased, but it may have been because I was trying to configure it on a work network that has some firewall related issues. When I got the Insight to the point it was on network and received the firmware update it's been solid since that point. I think the app has some growing to do, but overall "good" rating and I am generally satisfied.

I use the wemo insight switch to control a light in my home. When combined with the IFTTT integration, the light comes on when I get within one half mile of my home. The ruleset capability is great too. You can receive alerts if the device has been on for more than x hours, or if the cost to run the connected light (or heater) exceeds a set amount in a day!

Fairly simple to install and works great when the app doesn't crash on you or doesn't recognize the device which tends to happen very often. If Belkin focuses more on the App to work better with this product then it will deserve a higher rating but they're not there yet. Its nice to know how much electricity your devices are consuming and estimate how much they will cost you to operate.

I have used it the most with my coffee pot, I love setting it to turn on when I wake up ( FITT). It is also neat to see the energy consumption, however I was expecting more from that(ie ability to export and back up data). As far as I can tell you just have access to the days info and a running total. In hindsight I didn't need an "insight". Just the plain switch would have been fine.

I purchased the Belkin - WeMo Switch for a lamp in my home, it works like a charm, was easy to install, and is programmable. Since the installation of the switch, I haven't touched the lamp, it is so much easier to turn on via the app or reprogram the automatic feature. I will purchase another in a day or so for my Christmas lights, so easy to 'set and go'. This product is perfect for people with pets, those who are on go.

The switch works well. I was going to buy a couple timers but I thought I needed to get a little more up to date than that an voila the WeMo switch. I bought three. 1 had a hard time connecting to WiFi but I just move some things around it a bit to give it better signal, restarted the app and all was well. I love being able to turn the switches on and off from anywhere in or out of the house. And so does my family.

I have hue lights and wemo devices. This device enabled me to control a light strip with 4 LED lights remotely and with amazon echo. Amazon echo fully supports wemo and hue lights so no need to use device links. If using the wemo app, it gives you estimated usage on this device. It is a great addition to my connected home. To note, it does not support dimming.

This is my second set of this wemo insight switch besides the two set of regular wemo switch. I love the fact that you can set the consumption of the device or electronic plug into it. It tells you how much the cost a month. You can set a schedule or import data of the weekly reports. What else to say about this great product. Definitely getting more

This is an excellent remote switch that I bought for my Christmas Tree lights. Later I am using with the coffee machine. With this switch you can turn ON anything connected to it remotely or locally because have a button on the top. Also with the app you can track how much electricity consume the equipment connected. Great ... ultra-recommended.

This makes my Amazon echo work even better. While I can use the iPhone app to turn my lights on and off at leisure, it truly is fun doing it via voice. Great device. Even better that I can see how much electricity I'm using! I highly recommend this!

Ver y easy to use. A greate product but expencive.

The Wemo switches work really great. With the bridge they also work great with Apple Homekit. I'm using it in my pump house to control a heat light for when it gets cold to keep the pump from freezing. And what is cool about this model is that not only can I tell if the light is on and turn it on from the comfort of my warm bed at night it tracks electricity usage so I can tell if the bulb is burned out or not. So no more going to the pump house to check the bulb or turn it on or off. It also has a timer so you can program it to turn on and turn off at a certain time. So this has really solved a pain point.
