I bought this to use with a new variable speed attic exhaust fan I recently installed. This lets me know how much power the fan is using. I can’t change the fan speed, it’s automatic, but it makes it easy to keeps tabs on fan usage.

I use this smart plug on numerous items around the house. Recently it was used for Christmas lighting. The ease of use and the smartphone app make owing this device leaps and bounds easier than a typical timer. I highly recommend the purchase of this item, in fact I recommend owning several.

Received an Amazon Echo over the holidays, and wanted to make some of the lights in my house smart. Since I have some non-standard light bulbs (thanks, IKEA) I wasn't able to swap them for smart bulbs. This was a great alternative, as I just plugged in into the wall, and it connected to the app and the Echo smoothly. Since then I have had no problems with functionality. My only con is the price. It was a little high for what is effectively a wifi on/off switch, and I would buy more for my house if the price dropped. Still worth the buy!

Once its connected it's fine...but the first initial connection or if you change wifi, it's not always the easiest. It is nice to have the power consumption info but I could probably just use one of the other cheaper WeMo switches that dont give that.

My kids wake up late at night and turn on their bed lamps.. I needed a way to turn them off based on a trigger. So every 30 minutes I run a trigger to turn off the lights via IFTT and now my kids cannot burn the midnight oil.

I like using this product for my lamps or fan. You can probably be very creative with various things to plug it with. But I would say to check if it works 100% with the product you connect it with; for example my fan is electronic and can be controlled with a remote, so if I turn it off with the Wemo Insight Plug it, it won't turn back on after 5 or 10 minutes or so. But it mostly works perfectly with all items I've used it with and the manual button of the plug is smooth-to-the-touch . Lastly, I enjoy the info on how long the plug has been on and how much money it spent on having it on.

This product is easy to set up. This particular WeMo the outlet will calculate your energy usage after you put in your proper information from your electric company. It will tell you the amount of time it has been on and the amount of money it has cost you by being on.

unit is solid, though more expensive than its competitors. The WEMO infrastructure however is more established with other IoT. Device support usually involves reset the switch, re install software, try reconnecting after. How about Belkin designing a device that doesn't drop? a 5ghz band would be useful to stay away from 2.4 ghz interference everywhere. Control of the device in the app is useful and easy to configure. add IFTTT recipes and do's to it and it becomes better still. it is Amazon Echo compatible as well.

Easy to setup with Wemo app. Paired nicely with Alexa app on iPhone. Only con is that HomeKit is not yet supported, even though there were talks of it earlier this year. Still waiting for HomeKit support...

It's great... when it works. Takes a while to connect over wifi but eventually it does. I like that it also shows you the energy consumption. Also, the shape is less bulky than the previous Wemo plug which is a good thing.

We used this item to plug in a set of candle lights in our windows. It's easy to turn these lights on and off at home using the Wemo software on our phone as well as when we are away from home. We can turn the lights on and off from anywhere as if we are home.

I love that I can program a time for our tower heater to turn on for a period of time and when I leave the house, I can use the app to make sure that it's turned off. It also shows the average cost of running the heater per month.

I first bought one, was so pleased with the easy set up and the features, purchased a second unit. Both functioning well. I also have Phillips hue lux bulbs. However prefer WeMo switch for more flexibility and ability to use any other standard bulb.

I gave this as a present and I think it can be useful on its own, the problem was with which devices to use this device with in the home. Overall though, it's a nice simple device for less complicated devices.

Works perfectly to turn my croc pot on while I am at work. However every time I open the app it wants to update. I let it update the first few times but after the 4th time I ignored it and it still works great.

This is a much nicer and easier time then any manual or digital timer I ever used, I have 4 of these and love that I can turn the lights on anytime from anywhere, one in the living room, laundry room, hallway and outside, easy setup.

Totally happy with this purchase. It was easy to set up and I linked it to my echo. I like being able to turn on the light in the morning with my echo and really nice being able to get into bed and shutting off the light.

Switch was easy to setup, iphone app works as advertised. No other equipment necessary. Really like being able to control lights from the app and program on/off times. It has worked fine for the month I've been using it.

I have been using this device fot a week now it has operated flawlesly ,easy to connect.i have been using it to control my christmas lights and set it on a timer i will be buying more in the future .

For those who live and understand connected devices this adds a sume touch to enabling devices in your home. I connected my wemo device to a light and it makes its simple to turn the light off and on no matter where you are.
