    Being a tech savvy individual like myself, it took me an hour to set this one up. I regret buying this since i bought two of these and didnt open it until later. If i could return this now, i will and never buy a smart plug from belkin again.

      Supposedly, the setup process is fast and easy if you downloaded the latest Wemo App and your phone is within your router's range along with the Wemo Insight Switch.     I bought this product thinking it would make timer settings and remote control of my light easy, but the iOS app was hard to use for scheduling and the connection was always a hit and miss, not reliable at all. I returned the product after using it for a week. I will wait for future releases.

    Google home integration does not work

    I bought it to set up integration with google home. Use voice commands to turn on and off the switch. Google home does not recognize this device.

    My insight switch worked great until a firmware update, once the firmware update was installed, the device no longer worked. I tried a factory reset and still would not work. I spent well over an hour online and phone working with the technical support. They simply did not want o acknowledge that their device was defective. The device was great, but Belkin's lack of support is steering me towards other brand smart products.

    It lost connection to the Wi-Fi too frequently. When it was connected the setup worked inconsistently.

    As stated in the title, works as adverised. When I got it, I followed the instructions inside the box. Downloaded the WeMO app. Plugged the Insight Switch in. Through the app, I pointed it to my network and it was able to connect fairly quickly. Next thing I did was let it go through firmware updates. Apparently there were two updates. After that, it was ready to go. To note, as of this review and since I got it, there were two app updates. So it appears they are active with the app and switch. I bought it for my espresso machine, a Rocket Giotto Evoluzione V2. It is 15amp/110v and 1200 watts. It takes a good hour to warm up before pulling the first shot. I wake up at 4:30am and I don't have time to wait for it to warm up so I started research for timers and chose the WeMo. Once set up, I went back into the app and set the rules (your on and off times). You can set a bunch of different rules. For example, my Weekday rule is the machine will turn on an hour before I get up and turn off about an hour after I leave. I set up an After Work rule to come on an hour before I get home and stay on til about 6p.m. (not a good idea to drink espresso after 6 unless you want to write operas at 2am). I then have a Weekend rule set up to turn on and basically stay on during the day. You can pretty much set any type of rule you want. Select days and select times. If I was in a situation where I got to go home early before a rule started, I can go in the app and manually turn on the machine from wherever I am and I have and it works. By the same token, I can manually turn the machine off, overriding a rule. The range seems to be pretty good. My router is located in the living room and obviously the machine in the kitchen. A room away with a wall separating the router and switch. I also have the WeMo plugged into a surge protector which is located underneath a coffee cart where my machine resides. So it's not even out in the open. So the range for me is very good. Even impressive. Some minor nitpicks. Little pricey. The directions were minimal. I didn't see any instructions on how to set up rules but it appeared intuitive enough.

    if I can give a 1/4 star I will. This product never remember my wifi setting even though I check save wifi. I have input the setting almost everyday. Disconnected to my wifi always. I wish I can get my money back or get a replacement that work, This is junk.

    I would get it all set up and working then it would quite and would have to do it over again. I know there are good reviews out there but I just could get this one to stay connected. I have other bluetooth items that I have no problem with.

    Can't get it to work

    Every time I turn it off I have to reinstall it - Won't work remotely because of that = don't know why it won't stay connected. Not what I expected. I know the reviews are great so not sure what's going on with this one.

    When I bought this second one. The app did an update. Update & the first one does not work The app does not support this item . I adding a device, but it will not locate. I wish I had not bought the second one, or loaded the update.

    Half the time it's not connected to the wifi-fi and I have to turn it on and off. Do not buy this product if you're planning on using it to connect to Amazon Alexa.
