For months, I had been discussing how to get my front exterior light on either a timer or app controlled, and the WeMo was the perfect solution! I have a general idea of how things work but am by no means a handy man, and the overall removal of the previous outlet and installation of the WeMo switch took 6 minutes! The app is great and allows you to create "Rules" basically a timer system which send the light on and off automatically for me! I can also use the app to remotely turn the light on and off without the timer. I HIGHLY recommend this product for its easy installation and great usefulness!

Setup is straight forward and fairly easy. Install took about 20 minuets. That included the programing of the switch. Been up and running for about a month now without any problems at all. Its nice to be able to check the status of your lights at any time on your cell phone. Its also nice to be able to program the switch while you are away to look like someone is home. They should offer multi-packs at better prices. The price of cool is not very cheap.

I purchased several of these switches to control ceiling fans throughout the house using 3 different Amazon Echos. While it has only been a few weeks all has gone as planned. Either voice command through "Alexa" or a tap of the switch toggles the power to a fan as intended. The setup was intuitive and fairly quick. All of the 10+ Belkin Wemo items we've purchased so far required a firmware update once connected to our wifi but this was done through the wemo app on my iPhone 6s. The wemo app is free and makes setting up these switches painless. Instructions are clear and easy to follow for someone that knows nothing about electricity. One consideration when deciding if this switch will work for your project is that this device must be the only switch controlling power to a specific outlet. We wanted to use the switch to control fans that could be toggled on or off from more than one place in the house. To do this I had to do a Google search and quickly came across a step-by-step guide to disconnecting and bypassing the extra switch. I would only recommend this for use when what needs to be controlled is hardwired (like a ceiling fan) or because you like the look of the switch. The Wemo Insight switch requires zero wiring and monitors power consumption. The Insight switch is great for floor and table lamps, indoor christmas lights, etc.

Was looking for a wall switch that would both integrate with my Smartthings Home Automation Hub AND with my Wemo smart outlets. Simple installation (remember you MUST have a Neutral for this to work) and setup w/ the Wemo App equally simple. For this switch, I have it controlling my Patio Light and it's connected to Smartthings and the Patio Door Sensor. Here's how it works. When the Slider Door is opened (only after dark) the Light will automatically come on and stay on until either the door is closed (w/ 15 minute delay) OR sunrise. Alternately, just tap the switch and the light works as w/ normal switch. Now, IF my motion detector OR smoke alarm goes off, then the light (along with all my other Wemo / Smartthings lights) will come on. Even if the network goes down, it remembers its schedule. As you can see, the possibilities are endless. Just the Wemo alone gives you control at home and away and allows for timers and such. Integrate with other smart devices and the possibilities are endless.

Installation for the Wemo Light Switch was fairly easy. After turning off my switch at the breaker, examining my current wiring, I determined that my setup met the needs for the Light Switch. You must have a ground wire AND neutral wire for installation. This is outlined in the instructions that came with the Light Switch. Also, the switch that you install this on must be a stand alone. You can not have two separate switches that work on the same light. Our living room switch was perfect for this and I now have the ability to turn on/off all four ceiling lights via the switch itself or thru my phone. Wemo has the ability to turn on/off the lights at certain time frames, or you can integrate with other Wemo components (Sensor) to have this switch on/off. My favorite is the integration with IFTTT. I have a Withings WiFi scale, so when I go to take a measurement in the morning (upstairs), my living room lights will automatically turn on, ready for when I head downstairs. This kind of automation is exactly what I needed. Anyone looking to add some automation to your house, I would recommend this product.

These switches work better than some of the competition like smartthings. Unlike most other HA systems WEMO works when your internet is down from home. As far as price very competitive and I think less expensive since there is no hub to buy also. And easy to setup and make conditional rules. Some wannabe programmers poopoo them due to the lack of an api, but these guys want a gadget not a reliable tool. It dies integrate with IFTTT so you can do quite a bit more than what the app includes, making it play well with other devices from other makers. With IFTTT the light switch becomes 2 switches with a long press you can have IFTTT do thing like send a text or make a phone call. I have the bedroom switches programmed with a long switch to call family for help in an emergency, and the back porch and front porch light switches programmed to call my phone so I can find it when I misplaced it, there are dozens of things the long press can do. The Amazon ECHO can control WEMO with natural voice commands and fairly fluid commands. My entire house uses WEMO, I removed Smartthings due to continual server issues on their end making it impossible to use often times. So WEMO is a great solution 4 WEMO Switch - 4 Insight - 16 WEMO Light Switches - 1 WEMO Link with 2 bulbs - 4 WEMO HD cameras - 1 WEMO Motion - and lastly 2 WEMO Makers. And I love them all

This is my first "smart" lightswitch which I wanted as an easy way of turning on the lights at dusk for a specific period of time (1.5 hours) and this thing is able to do that within the scheduling options provided in the Wemo app on your smartphone. It was super-easy to setup...downloaded the app, my phone found it right away when trying to connect to it via WiFi, and i was able to easily get it tied to my home wireless. You can also have multiple schedules defined as far as when to turn it on and off...i also have a schedule setup to turn it on in the morning, so I don't have to stumble around in the dark. I might end up buying additional Wemo stuff in the future based on a positive experience so far.

It has been a few months now that I have installed the switch. It was easy to wire, and then set up. I was so happy with it's performance that I purchased 2 additional switched. One is set for the front outside light, one for the garage entrance, and the third for the hallway when I enter the house through the garage. The WeMo app is easy to navigate. I set the switches running the outside lights to turn on the lights 30 minutes after sunset and turn them off 30 minutes after sunrise. It's been working without without a glitch. I love it! I also set up an IFTTT recipe for days I work late to turn on my hallway light when I enter the geofence perimeter I set. I always smile when I open the door to a lit hallway. I am thinking about expanding to other WeMo products. I wish they would come down on price a little.

Although a bit pricey the WeMo switches are easy to install and work quite well. The Wemo switch also looks nice when installed and don't look as tacky as other smart switches such as the lutron or hue switch. I currently use my phone or my invoke speaker (Cortana) to controlling several lights. I have an older home in which the switch boxes seem smaller then modern electrical switch boxes and I really had to squeeze the switches in with the thick box on the back of the switches. Overall no issues and I would recommend wemo switches!

First of all, make sure that the location you would install the switch has the neutral wires, that's the key. I originally wanted to install these switches at 2 specific spots of the house but ended up install at 2 other locations due to no neutral wires. The toughest part of installing for me is fighting to squeeze the WeMo into the little electrical boxes. Other than that, setting up is a breeze. There are some delays when using the smart devices, however, I love the way I can control the lights from outside the house, or the way they interact using IFTTT. Awesome! I wish it allows dimming though...

I was planning to install a photo-sensor for my exterior lights (with all the associated wiring) when I came across this little beauty. It was a little challenging to program at first, but it totally solved my timer issues by automatically coming on at dusk (based on Internet time input) and going off at the time that I have set. Saved me a ton of work, plus I can activate or de-activate it remotely via the Android app on my phone. I plan to buy additional WeMo devices for inside lights.

I loved my wemo remote especially since I'm able to control my remote with my light from distance using an app. Being able to also set up rules such turn on/off your light at sunrise and sunset. Everything worked fine until the last firmware update. Now some of the wemo light switched become undetectable and I cannot control them through the app nor manually. The only way to make the switch responsible again is by resetting it. I'm currently working with their customer support to resolve the issue.

These switches are great for anyone who is active who needs to set automation for their house. I have four of them around my house (front door inside/outside, back door, bedroom). The fact that i can simply have timers to go on and off is great. I would highly recommend for anyone with pets, i tend to leave the house dark and with this i can log in a turn the lights on for my dogs. Only drawback is that i have two in one wall socket and it was a tough fit getting them both to fit in one unit, but i made it work.

Need some electrical background to connect the wiring for the switch, but otherwise very straight-forward to install and set-up in the app. Also compatible with existing Smart Home devices and ecosystems.

It's programiable. It works from any where. I don't have to buy an additional brain. It will conect to my home wifi network. I bought five. Two I have set as automatic timers that turn on/off at sunset/sunrise. Two in my bedroom for the light and celing fan, I jump into bed and no longer have to get up to turn either on or off or look for a remote. I just open the phone app and switch it from there.

I bought a pair of these to use on the outdoor lights for my house. Installation was hassle free, connected to the WiFi no problem and set them up to turn on 30min before sunset and turn off 30min after sunrise. I haven't noticed them miss a beat yet. Installation was simple but it was slightly difficult to fit the wiring into the box because of how big the back of the switch is. Setup took about 5 minutes because it didn't connect to my internet right away. Other than that, the switch has been very convenient and working well. I can control my lights with Alexa or I can control them away from home via my phone.

If you've ever replaced a light switch, installing the WeMo Light Switch should be easy. Key need: neutral wire in your switch box. The part that took longer than expected was the set-up. The Light Switch was dropping its connection to my router so I had to reset the switch a couple of times. Key learning/experience for me after set-up - I had my router fixed to a certain channel. Apparently, that caused an issue that I found out later when the light it was controlling turned on, but the light switch LED was flashing orange. It took me a little while to find the right support article, but the router should be set to find channels automatically. After getting that squared away, the Light Switch has worked perfectly (I've had it for 3 weeks now).

This is a great automation option for people who don't want to spend hundreds on high end home automation. Setup and programming was easy. My outdoor Lights now come on at sunset and go off at 11:30pm and it took me 10 minutes to set it up. Very user friendly. My one 'con' is simply that the switch is rather large and took some work to make fit but nothing too major.

I now have four of these throughout the house. These WEMO wall switches work flawlessly with my Amazon Echo. I can use my voice to control the lights. They also are accessible through the WEMO mobile app. Belkin support is also above par. Setup is easy and installation straight forward. After the first one, the others were a breeze.
