I own multiple wemo products for mare than an year now. No complaints so far. When I first started on home automation, I wanted something plug and play without buying any hubs. Wemo is perfect fit if you are starter and wanted to get a feel of “Smart Home” before spending more money.

Product works great and set up and install were straight forward. It does help if you’re familiar with wiring but if not, everything is color coded and labeled very well with good directions. I put a dimmer and two regular wemo WiFi switches in a triple gang box and it was a tight fit due to the size of these switches. They are bigger than regular switches and regular dimmer switches as well. Set on the app works well and is simple to navigate. Just wish it worked with Harmony remotes but as of now, it doesn’t. You can use it with Alexa and control the Wemo and Harmony hub with your voice but I would like to be able to control it with my remote too. Not just voice or smart phone. Biggest reason to choose this setup over Phillips Hue was the ability to still use the switches manually like normal switches. They work great.

Purchased this just as an impulse along with the echo dot. They work great so far, there is about a 1-2secind delay between the WeMo and Alexa but being that I don’t have to get up and flip the light switch anymore is just fantastic or pure laziness either way it’s great

I bought a bunch of these, not really knowing much about their limits. Each one draws bandwidth. So the more you add, the less you have. I also installed minis, a nest thermostat, and 2 cameras, one on the door, one inside. They all fight for wifi bandwidth, and boot each other off line. I would suggest skipping them, and purchase a Phillups Hue starter kit, that includes a bridge. Then you can tie it to google, or alexa, and there is less traffic on your home wifi network. This is more efficient, less money, and works better than these really expensive switches.

I own 4 Belkin Wemo light switches already and was looking to expand by adding a dimmer. This product works great as part of my smart home and integrates easily with Google Home Systems. I especially enjoy the ability to set a perfect lighting seeing for watching movies. I'd you are looking for a great addition to a media room or smart home this is a great product to get.

    Good Switches

I purchased these switches to allow me the ability to control my lights via Alexa and my phone, which they do. The set-up was easy once you identify the live wire( not all houses uses black for the live wire), but once you get through that I was able to set-up the others switches in about 10 min (each). The only draw back is I’m not able to add any complex (IFTTT) to my Apple TV, wanted to be able to dim the lights when a movie comes on. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars, other than that it’s great.

The dimmer switch has a modern look with active touch control and function well when there is uninterrupted power. When power is interrupted for a period of time, a black out, one must manually reconfigure the settings. The installation process and the apps is non-intuitive and the firmware update take a long time; user is not notify when it it is completed. The switch surface temperature measured at 95 Deg F and feels warm to the touch even when the lights are off. I like the design and function of this switch but will not use it because don't want to reset after each power loss and the heat that it generate may be a potentially fire hazard.

Aesthetically great, Home Kit functionally inept

We bought several of these switches for the claimed Apple Home kit compatibility, however, the reliability of these switches fall short. Random failures weekly or bi-weekly has led to extreme frustration. Initial physical installation is straight forward and quick. Wemo app and recognition of the switch is also straight forward. Regretfully, that is where it ends. Repeated attempts to integrate a new switch to home kit results in another switch dropping out. Re-add the dropped switch and another drops out. So, if you plan on installing multiple switches and you’re comfortable with adding them repeatedly, then these switches are for you. The only minimally invasive (time) result I’ve found to be effective is to reboot your router. Keep in mind, a different switch and/or switches will drop, so just keep rebooting your router until they all come back online (current record is 11 reboots) We are absolutely disappointed in their reliability to stay connected to home kit. Physically they are easy to operate, the dimming functions great, bulb compatibility is flawless and aesthetically they’re gorgeous, but for the price their constant maintenance is not worth the price of admission. Ultimately the choice is yours.

I’ll start by saying this switch is a cool dimmer, though it doesn’t prevent buzzing on LED lights, nor does it co-operate with hue products if your on the same network. It kept kicking my hue hdmi sync box offline causing very very very annoying troubleshooting. I got to the point where I had to run a wire shark and watch the packers flow through my not so tiny smart home network. The problem is with the wemo switches is that they use multicast. And they use it excessively. Same with hue. When they were both on the same network “flat vlan” they would interfere with each other and knock each other off. This created difficulty with Hdmi syncing with the TV on the hue system. And switches disappearing from the app. I had to create a seperate vlan and use igmp snooping to get these to place nicely together. I’m not sure if they fixed the issue via firmware yet since I haven’t bothered putting them back on the same vlan, but if you folks don’t have that ability to create multiple vlans. Then I’m afraid your probably going to see issues. I had these for months while calling both hue and wemo. No one offered any help or firmware fix, and troubleshooting steps are way beyond what I’d call standard consumer friendly. Though Hue definitely had the smarter Developers willing to work with their consumers.

I was looking for a dimmer switch to operate with my Amazon Echo when I came across this switch. Prior switches I had purchased only allowed me to turn lights on and off whereas this switch allows me to dim my lights. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to use the functionality afforded to you by having a smart home.

I was looking for a dimmer to work with Google , after searching several solutions on the internet I ended up choosing the WEMO , it's a quality BELKIN product, easy to set up and works flawlessly every time. I highly recommend this product if your in the market to go wireless. Wemo keep producing great products. Thank you

Good product, IF you only want to use this 1 dimmer, but if you want to automate your whole house, I would recommend going with a system with a hub. Like Caseta or Hue. Other than that, it works great and is easy to set up.

Works well. Looks clean, easy to use and setup. Only issue I have is the dimmer if you just touch it, not even push, it sets the dim... so if I turn it on at the bottom and I don't have my finger at the bottom of the switch it will fully dim the lights when I turn it on. I guess I just have to get used to it, still haven't after months. I feel there are cheaper options that work just as well.

Have these for my living room & bedroom light, where dimming would be most used. Works the way they should & also works well with the Amazon Echo devices. The WeMo app is very easy to use. I suggest if you are trying to automate your house/lights/devices, you stick with the same brand so you only need one app to control it all. Also works with IFTTT. Unfortunately, to make it work with other non-Belkin things or to have it do unique things, you will need to use another app or device, but that's to be expected. Once you get the hang of these things, they are great.

We started with a few WEMO plugs shortly after they came out and we've gone all in now with WEMO. The good: works great, great APP controls, works well with Alexa. If your power goes out, these will return to their last state ( on/off) when power is restored. The not so bad: as with most electronic and smart switches, these are BIG! Really takes up alot of space in the wall box. Getting everything in can be a challenge. Every now and then a device will lose connection but eventually comes back on its own. Must have a neutral wire for this to work.

This is a nice smart switch, and is easy to install, although it is a little large and I did have some difficulty getting it to fit in some of the wall boxes. Also, you need to have neutral wires for it to work. I used to have issues where the switch would disconnect before Belkin changed the app to use a login. Since the change, I have not seen this issue.

Easy to install, instructions say you need a 4 wire system and it is only rated for 400 watts, so if if you have to many lights on this switch it will probably fall at some time or another. Needs to rated for.at least 600 watts for large rooms.with lots of lights.
