I am enjoying my tv and I gave a rating of 4 stars. I love the picture and the sound quality. I would have gave a 5 stars if the loading/turn on time was shorter

When we first got the tv it worked well, had a great picture. In less than 20 days the picture or screen decided to get both horizontal and vertical lines and the screen was split in half. Due to the fact that I did not get the extended warranty Best Buy would not exchange it [past the 15 day window which I was 7 day past]. So I had to contact Westinghouse directly and that was seven days ago and I gave them all necessary information required and they replied by email that would be in contact shortly? They have yet to respond, NOT HAPPY!

For the price is a good tv. I just have one thing I don't like it: sometimes when I turned off and I turned on I must connect to internet again

Worst TV and frustrating

I've only had this t.v for ten months, I did not buy a warranty because I've never had a problem with any other TV I've had from any brand. I'll turn the TV on and I can see the screen but shortly after it will turn completely back. Sound still works, blue power light for the tv is still on, but a black screen. I put two pictures below, one in the dark to show the backlight is still on. Sometimes the screen will come back but most of the time I have to turn the t.v. off then back on. Sometimes I have to do this twenty times until it will finally stop and it's very frustrating. My tv still has the plastic around the edges and no scratches, pretty much perfect condition, but it seemed like it was built to fail. I wish I could just exchange it and pay the difference for a name brand t.v. but Best Buy won't let me so I'll never buy from them again or this brand. Don't waste your money on this.

Best value. Excellent TV. Note quirks for gaming

First of all, I got this TV for $250 on Thanksgiving, so this is a 5-star value for sure. The picture is excellent and Picture Mode presets are actually good.
INPUT LAG FOR GAMING can, I repeat, CAN, be resolved by simply setting the Picture Mode to "Game". Here is the quirk - you cannot make adjustments in the picture menu after this. Any adjustments will cause the picture mode to change to "User" and will automatically remove the input/performance benefits of Game mode. Once you set game mode, leave it alone and there will be no input lag.
PICTURE QUALITY - Did I say excellent yet? The picture is great, just as good as other televisions at higher prices. The only difference is (and why this TV is able to be cheaper) is that there are fewer adjustments that can be made. The only available adjustments are Bright/Contrast/Sharp/Tint/Color/Temperature and White Balance and Color Space.
Motion Interpolation (MEMC, aka MotionPlus, aka TruMotion) - Yes, this TV has this feature, but it has it in two places, and it may actually have the nicest implementation of it I have yet experienced. There is a dedicated MEMC option (off/low/medium/high), but it seems that there's also a minor implementation built in to the Sharpness menu. This was hard to figure out at first, but I believe I'm right. I hate enhanced motion personally, so I almost always want it off. I turned off MEMC, but still noticed substantial motion smoothing. Finally figured out that it appears that the higher the sharpness setting, the higher the amount of motion smoothing, even with MEMC turned off. So now I leave Sharpness down to default or a bit lower, and I found that it is just right to leave natural motion for most cases, but some smoothing periodically. I know this sounds unlikely, but I swear that is the case. Either way, I have MEMC turned off and default sharpness (previously I kept manually adjusting it up to perfect the picture, but then I kept getting a stronger smoothing effect).
I do recommend this TV. It is cheaper because it lacks certain pro tuning features for picture, but the default modes work very well. Also, the AC plug is not removable, and the bezel and overall construction seem basic, but the trade-off for price is well worth it.

This tv has a great picture! Even with old tv shows, the resolution is strangely clear. The TV is slow to turn on. If you want to access the internet for Pandora or Netflix, you have to turn on the TV and let it be for several minutes before it reconnects to the wi-fi. You CANNOT add other apps on the TV. It's a dumb smart tv. If you want to add HBO-Go or the Showtime app, go with a Samsung or LG. With this TV, you're stuck with the apps they provide and nothing more. I've only had the tv for a month or so; time will tell if it lasts.

My only complaint about this TV is that is takes "forever" to turn on; forever for me is more than 10 seconds. The quality is good, not heavy- pretty light, easy to install, and easy to use.

It's a good TV for the price. Image quality is good. Sounds is ok for a small room. Connected to Onkyo receiver, sound very good. Dislikes: skipping channel is very slow and labels on the remote faded soon.

This TV is a very cost efficient option. I bought this TV for my den and so far this purchase has been a positive experience. I personally did not experience any of the reported problems on other reviews like the inability to connect to WiFi. The sound could be a bit better, but I have the TV working with a sound bar, not an issue. For me it was easy to setup, and mount on the wall. The only thing is that is a bit limited on apps and do not know if there is a way to add more.
I still recommend this TV for someone that wants a bigger screen on a tighter budget.

This is my first time buying a westinghouse product. I purchased this television set because Of the price and function of the 50 inch, smart tv and 4k. It's a 71/2 out of ten but Im using it in the basement as a extra set to play video games or watch sports. It's so easy to set up and the 2160 pixels makes it enjoyable. It has 3 hdmi, and usb's. The volume is pretty loud too! If you can find it on sale...even better.

The TV is a great price for just watching TV shows. The refresh rate is only 60mhz, so gaming and most sports will blur a little. I bought this for my 78 year old mom, and she loves it.

Easy to unpackage and install. I use this with digital television and when you use the channel selector on the remote to change channels it's pretty slow. If you use the CH LIST button on the bottom you can navigate much faster. It's also strange there's no power button or capability to use the TV without the remote. Our family sometimes finds ways to lose the remote...Picture is great and it's easy to use. I'm happy with the purchase.

I was surprised to see this TV for only $329 when I purchased it. I had never heard of the brand before but I decided to give it a shot for such a low price. The quality is amazing! It's especially amazing when you watch shows that are in 4k (like on Netflix, which is a featured app). The only downside I would say is that it doesn't come with a wide variety of apps. It is lacking Hulu and Spotify to name a few. Other than that, I would highly recommend this tv if you can find it as cheap as I did.

I've purchased a 40" Westinghouse in 2013 and loved it. It was time to upgrade and I couldn't beat the deal on Black Friday for this 50" 4K TV. First off the picture quality is amazing. Very rich detail and it was instantly noticeable from 1080p, but I can see that some people (my wife) did not recognize the increase in clarity.
The thing that is making me return this TV is the 60 Hz and Soap Opera effect. Its jarring to me and honestly gives me a bit of a headache. My wife notices it but it doesn't bother her as much. So I really think its just preference at this point. I tried to turn off the MEMC motion blurring, and tried lowering the sharpness as I've seen that has helped some others. None of that really helped and you start to close some clarity.
One other drawback was playing Xbox. There was a very noticeable and frustrating lag.I know I have 4K compatible monster HDMI cables so that is not a reason. I had to mess with a decent amount of controller sensitivity setting to try and correct. I tried what I've seen online to correct but I did not help.
Overall, if you are watching live TV like sporting events then this is a fantastic TV for you. It was stunning to watch football and the NBA on this the other day. Great for a sports den. If you do not care about motion blur, then get this TV. Great deal but just has a few drawbacks.

One of the best tv's I have ever owned. Great price superb picture and great features. Owned a 32inch Westinghouse for years wanted to upgrade to a bigger one without an inflated price. Glad we chose the 50"Westinghouse another winner!!

I just recently bought this product and I like the quality of the pic, the size of the tv and the price that it was offered at. I have been researching for a tv for a long time and I'm glad that I waited.
