I've had this about a month, and so far it works well. I have to read the manual some more to figure out some of the settings, but most are easy.

It's been a month but this microwave is a great replacement for the GE that we had. My GE lasted about 16 years. As I don't know what the life expectancy is for the over the stove class of microwaves, I can only hope this Whirlpool lives up to that. It was easy to install, I only drilled 2 additional holes for installation. Although I did it by myself, I would urge most to use two people. It's bigger than the old GE.

We really like this microwave. Quiet. Basic funtions are all we wanted not too many buttons to press or keep straight. The door close action is better thatn any other microwave we looked at.

Top of microwave has a very sharp edge and I got a deep cut on my hand when reaching above the unit into the cupboard. Outside of that, love all the features and works great!

Installation was a huge pain. Small bracket for the back and the screws provided did not work for me. Had to buy my own hardware. Now that its in I like it. Good microwave.

We purchased the Whirlpool 1.7 CF over range microwave to replace a counter top model as part of a kitchen remodeling project. We comparison shopped fairly hard and found that we liked this particular unit better than those costing hundreds of dollars more. A bonus to our comparison shopping was that Best Buy had the best price in town on this model and it was available immediately. What we also discovered was that although this unit is somewhat larger than the one it is replacing, it uses less wattage than the old one.

This was the cheapest price on this model in town and with the rewards program it made the deal even sweeter. A nice basic microwave that should suit most of your needs.
