So far it's pretty good--after one month

I will say that this dishwasher is extremely quiet. I had a 13 yr old whirlpool that had a special quiet package before--this one is even more quiet. The interior does seem a bit smaller than my previous one, it is okay. Cleaning-wise it seems good although one plate that had dried ketchup on it did not come out clean. i had to wash it by hand afterwards. The in-the-door silverware equipment is okay--i suppose it allows more space in the interior. IT does fall off the door occasionally--so it makes me think it could have been designed better. The instructions tell you that some cycles will seem long--like 3 or 4 hours. It explains: like driving a car at a lower speed for a long time saves fuel, the dishwasher saves energy by running at a slower speed. The washer has a metal interior which is designed to save energy in the drying process. Overall, the products seems above average.

Pleased with Purchase - Some Caution

My last dishwasher was a lemon. Trouble from the start and continued having trouble for the few years we owned it. That being said, ANYTHING was going to be an improvement. My husband and I did not have a lot of money to spend on appliances as both our refrigerator and dishwasher died at the same time. So cost was a primary consideration. We did look at Consumer's Report and discovered that this unit had an acceptable rating. We wanted something that had the option of drying, and we wanted the control buttons on the face of the unit vs. the top of the door. We were able to preview the model in the store and noticed that the adjustable shelving operated smoothly and because the silverware rack was on the door, it allowed for more space in the bottom basket. Having used the model for over a month, here is what I like: 1) It gets my dishes clean! I do a brief rinse of my dishes before putting them in the washer, and I do use a rinse agent, so for the most part, I haven't noticed any food residue on my dishes. When I have a lazy family member who does not rinse a dish and lets it get crusty, then there is the potential for the item to not get thoroughly cleaned. 2) It is quite 3) The interior does not get any build-up / lime scale. 4) I am able to easily adjust the top shelf, shoudl I have bulkier items to load. Here are things that I can live with, but would like to see improved on my next purchase: 1) The cycles are long. If you eliminate the drying cycle, then the time is shortened, but overall, it can run over 3 hours for a complete "Normal" cycle. 2) As mentioned above, I still need to rinse my dishes in order to ensure they will come out clean, but I can live with that. 3) The silverware rack on the door takes some getting used to. I have learned to pull it out to load / unload. 4) The rack spacing is unusual ... it has taken me a bit to figure out how to most effectively place my dishes - I encourage people to take note of this when considering this model. Overall, I have had to make some adjustments on how I do the dishes, but bottom line, they are clean and no cloudy glasses!

    Great Dishwasher

I live in an apartment and did not take the purchase of a dishwasher lightly. I was just so tired of always having to wash the load 2 or 3 times with the dishwasher that management provided. I wanted one that would far excel at cleaning, be economical to run, reliable, and an overall great value. I found this one as an open box and checked consumer reports who had given it a glowing review. With my old dishwasher I would have to wash a load every day, it ran for at least 2 hours and I would have to turn the TV up to hear. This one blows that one so far out of the water. It holds a lot more so I am able to do no more than 3 loads a week. I use the most economical setting so it only uses 3 gallons of water per load and the dishes ALWAYS come out clean. When it's running I can't hear it in the living room even with the TV off. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great value.

I love this dishwasher. It totally cleans and dries the dishes And it is extremely quiet. It is an energy saver so therefore it runs a normal cycle for about 4 hours. That is the only drawback. Overall this is a great appliance.

This runs so quiet that I hardly even notice it is on! The inside rack system had a lot of thought put into it and I like how the top rack raises and lowers depending on what you are loading. The silverware basket can be moved to 3 different locations. However, the cycle takes 2 hours and 44 minutes. I just had to get used to running it overnight.

Got a great deal that made this worth while. Very quiet machine. Looks nice in all stainless steel. Was easy to install if you've done a DW before. Due to energy saver status, the normal mode takes more than 2 hrs but has a 1hr mode that uses more energy but gets dishes clean in an hour. I wouldn't buy this at full price, but at my deal, it is a good value and good machine that I hope lasts as long as the old GE/Hopoint at 27 years.

The main advantage of this dishwasher is how quiet it is. We could not be in the same room with the old dishwasher while it ran and also have a conversation. This one is so quiet you can stand next to it and barely hear it. It has a lot of room and the adjustable rack is nice.

Not having a dishwasher for the past 7+ years it was time to get one and we didn't want to spend a lot. We focused on the $500-650 range and wanted at least a stainless tub, this model reviewed very well in that price range and BestBuy had a great sale on it so we bought it. It cleans well, runs very quiet and has nice features like a movable silverware cage, adjustable height top rack and some good cleaning modes. Overall am happy with the purchase.

This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned and I know how they do it. My last unit was a Frigidaire. It had a sound blanket around it but it had a plastic tub (noisy). It did a good job of cleaning and only took an hour (strong water jets-good at cleaning, strong water jets-noisy) to wash a full load and the interior would be full of steam but completely dry (without heated dry turned on). My new Whirlpool takes 2 HOURS to clean a load. Twice as long as my last dishwasher but probably 4 times quieter. I suspect the new Whirlpool has weaker water jets. Pros: very quiet, does a pretty good job of cleaning, attractive, versatile rack and flatware holder Cons: takes 2 hours to wash a full load, the interior is never dry after a complete cycle and an additional 30 minute wait before I unload - water runs down the interior of the door but the dishes are mostly dry (this is with heated dry turned on), The unit vents out of the left side towards the front!?! Instead of the front handle area. I suspect that over time my kitchen cabinet will yellow.

It is almost silent compared to my old one, it vents very little heat, which is nice in the summer, and gets the dishes more clean! It is better than my old one in every way. It takes longer, but uses less water and is so quiet you forget it's even on. The rack has nice features, the silverware basket is a little too thin for my tastes, but I like that it can still go on the basket because I don't like it in the door.

It is super quiet! Leaves my dishes super clean. Only thing I dont like is the silverware basket. Hate it on the door so I moved it to the lower basket as you can, but I also dont like the size. It is super small.

This dishwasher is incredibly quiet, has high capacity, and does a good job cleaning. Time will tell if it is as durable as the 20+ year old unit it replaced, but it does a much better job cleaning dishes.

After extensive research and competitive pricing I decided this was the best dishwasher for my family and budget. While there many more expensive models and a few cheaper models, this one seemed like the perfect balance of performance and price to replace our cheap old RCA builder's special which was obnoxiously loud and never cleaned our dishes properly. This whirlpool model is very quiet and cleans great. It doesn't dry every dish every time, but it is usually just a few odd pieces that we probably didn't load properly to begin with. No regrets with this purchase at all.

This is our third dishwasher in nine years. This one is so quiet! We have an open floor plan and sit close to the kitchen. Hardly know it's on. It hold more dishes and cleans great!!! I also love the silverware holder on the door! We had a Whirlpool refridgerator that last over 24 years. If we ever have to buy another appliance we will buy Whirlpool.

Cleans well, very quite operation. Takes a little getting used to having utensil basket on the door. Utensil slots in basket lids takes getting used to as well; concept regarding more thorough cleaning is well founded. Use a rinse aid. I pre-rinse in sink to remove food scraps. Definitely should make time to read the operating booklet. Clarifies points for best results. Love it; glad I bought it. Great value for the price!

This is the quietest dishwasher we have ever had. The water draining from unit is loudest part of it. Cleans dishes well, even with dried on food. Very happy with this dishwasher!!! Installer had to remove the wheels to fit into the area in our counter, even though it measured to fit, and then installer wanted to charge extra for this. Other than that issue we are very happy
