Cycles takes a bit longer, but it gives a good clean on the dishes. Very quiet operation! Extremely pleased with that. I tend to have it running after supper heading into the evening. I like the interior size. Not crazy about the utensil basket on the door only because when you pull the bottom rack out to load it blocks you from adding the dirty silverware, but it easily lifts out and you can set it on the rack with the dishes too. I would recommend this model for the price point.

Does not thoroughly clean dishes. Sprayer mechanisms provide inadequate water pressure for cleaning pots and pans even at heaviest setting.

When I don't use the packets of Cascade detergent, the dishes aren't sparkling. I have used the liquid Cascade in the past, but it doesn't do the trick in this model.

I had a Whirlpool Gold dishwasher that was about 10 years old and it started leaking from the door area. We found that repair was not possible. We bought the tall tub Whirlpool, not the Gold edition, and like it just as much. The tall tub fit the counter opening better and gives us more room for taller items on the top shelf. It has all the features we need and does a good job of cleaning. It is quieter than the old one, which wasn't that bad. It was a little difficult to learn how to run it but we figured it out, The instructions are fair.

We have been using this dishwasher for two months now, and we are totally happy with it. Before purchasing I looked at online reviews, along with a well known publication that tests products. Whirlpool gets very good reviews, especially considering the price. They did as well as others that were up to twice as much money! This specific model was not tested, but it is the successor to models that were testing in the various locations that I read. It is labeled as quieter then previous models, and that is true. It runs very quiet in my opinion. We can be sitting in the next room and barely hear it. One thing that, I believe, contributes to this is that there is no hard food disposer. Do not let this keep you from looking at this model! First, a hard food disposer is not a true disposal (think under the sink). Many are little more then a piece of metal that spins around on the pump. Second, enzymes that are used in any decent dishwasher detergent are designed to break up food particles anyway. I was concerned because the previous generation models had the hard food disposer, and many of these do not. I have not had trouble at all with food particles, and we are typically do not rinse dishes. They recommend cleaning the filter every month, and its not been needed at even two months. I just make sure to check it before I run a load through. The silverware basket is very nice. I wondered if it would work well on the door, compared to being in the lower rack. It has worked very well. It gives you all the space of the rack for dishes, and does have features to help keep your silverware from nesting together. In our case, we could not use those. The silverware handles were too big. But, it easily swings up and out of the way if you do not use it. Even without those we have had very little trouble with silverware nesting. They get very clean. The only possible issue, that I have seen, is that you have to make sure you put larger items, like spoons that you use for cooking, over to the right side of the door. This is a precaution to make sure they do not get in the way of the detergent door. But thats a normal precaution with plates, etc. anyway for most people. Many people complain about the length of time the new dishwashers run, and its true that they run a lot longer. This isn't the manufacturers fault. New regulations require more efficiency. To do this the dishwashers have to use less water and make due with less phoshates in the detergent. Part of the answer is running longer cycles and having some "breaks" to allow the detergent to do its job. The motors are higher efficiency as well, so you get a benefit of using less water AND electricity. But it does run longer. So expect this from any new dishwasher you buy. If this model meets your requirements feel confident that it will meet your expectations. We have been very happy. I hope this helps!
