Very good dishwasher. It does a nice job getting the dishes clean. Layout of the baskets could be better.

Very large stainless steel tub makes cleaning tall pots and pans easy. Also has easy to adjust top shelf.

I love the dials, but the dishes are always wet when done. The silverware rack does not stay closed.

When first purchased, worked great. After a little more than three years, it stopped heating then stopped cleaning the dishes. Very disappointed. Though it wasn't a very expensive machine, I expected it to last longer. Should have purchased an extended warranty. Live and learn.

We replaced a 7 year old GE model that, quite honestly, was a disappointment from the start. Having previous great experiences with other Whirlpool products, it didn't take long narrowing down our choice. This model, in particular, caught our eye because of the stainless steel tub and other good features all at a clearance price of $449 which greatly undercut many lesser models. Installation was easy enough, but delayed only because our local Bestbuy failed to recommend the water line kit. It turns out that GE uses a different fitting so I had to wait until the next day to finish the install. This model has just enough features and it's performance has been flawless thus far. One feature that I had wanted, but didn't end up needing was a delay wash setting. Our old GE was so noisy that we had to use this feature all of the time, but this washer is soooooo quiet that you only hear it when it is pumping to drain and even then it's quieter than you'd expect. The only things that I can ding it on is the top control location and the stainless steel handle. It's no where near a deal breaker, but as read in other reviews, while the top controls create a very clean appearance, this and all top control models give you no indicators as to where the washer is in it's cleaning cycle. As far as the metal handle, it's very unforgiving to wet hands leaving marks behind all of the time. Again, a great product overall made even better by an incredible clearance price!

Barely Hear It Run, But Cleans Like A Beast!

This dishwasher was a much needed upgraded to our kitchen. It was the last appliance that was not stainless and our old dishwasher was not working well anymore. I decided to purchase whirlpool after looking at just about every other brand. For the money the quality is superior to most every other brand I could find out there, so we ended up with the gold series. Everything was smooth on the install, however if you are planning on using your old hose and not buying the dishwasher kit you are going to need a 3/8" to hose 90 degree adapter (not included). that was the only hiccup, otherwise everything has been flawless, extremely happy with purchase.

    Broke after Six Months

This dishwasher broke after just six months. After two service calls, and numerous calls to Whirpool, it remains unusable. The parts are always backordered. Their customer service is awful, and is no help at all. My Advice? Buy any other brand.

Does Not Dry As Well as Previous Gold Series

I bought the WhirlPool Gold Series dishwasher (S/S tub) to replace a 10 yr old Gold Series model (plastic tub) that I had good success with. The new Gold Series model is an inferior product to older versions. I was told the S/S tub would dry better. Despite two (2) visits from Best Buy authorized service technicians and the replacement of a heating coil, the newer Gold Series dishwasher does not dry well, probably due to Energy Star compliance. Top rack plastic utensils and storage containers do not dry and silverware basket holds a lot of water. I will not buy this model line in the future.

Dishwasher looks great, but even though best buy allows you to order, pay, setup delivery, you can't actually get it... Bad website and order system.
