This is a replacement for a diffent one that broke down within the first year. The stainless steel tub is nice, the washer is pretty quiet and energy efficient. I would rate this with a full 4.5 stars. The only draw back i have found is the cycle buttons face foward as opposed to up, making it a bit hard to see which cycle your initiating. But the washer works great. dishes come out very clean even with left on food. The ease of cleaning the in tub filter is also very easy. Great value!!!

Purchased this whirlpool dishwasher in the end of 2014. It had no problem for 2 1/2 yrs. After that it has been leaking every wash. Also now I think the motor is going bad because it makes these awful noises.

This DW was purchased for the kitchen at my office. It has a very large capacity and lots of cycles options depending on your needs along with convenient delay wash feature. It does an outstanding job cleaning a wide variety of dishes, glasses and utensils. I'm extremely happy with this purchase!!!

This is the best dishwasher I've ever had!

I decided to buy this dishwasher because of all the good reviews. I must say that it performs even better than I hoped. It has an easy-to-use control panel, it's as quiet as a whisper, it cleans and dries the dishes perfectly. So far I have only used the "Sensor" setting, and it has worked so well I haven't even tried the other settings yet. I also love the way the racks are laid out. The sections in the top rack are angled in such a way that cups and glasses are held securely, so they don't wobble and clink into each other during the wash cycle. The tines in the bottom rack are a good distance apart, so anything from plates to big pots fit without having to bend the tines. The only thing I'm not excited about is the silverware holder; the dividers between each section have slots that can allow small items (like measuring spoons) to slip sideways and get stuck. But that is a minor issue, overall I LOVE this dishwasher and am so glad I bought it.

I bought this because I've always had good luck with Whirlpool appliances. This dishwasher started out alright, but started having some intermittent problems that got progressively worse unfortunately not bad enough to identify a cause until after the 1 year warranty period. Now just 3 years after I bought it I'm getting a replacement.

Very Quiet! After dinner I like to watch a movie or T.V. No problem with noise from this dishwasher. It also has a delay start 2, 4, or 8 hours. Eco setting is okay if you don't mind simi-wet dishes. I like the heat dry feature on this washer better. But, if you're washing plastic Eco dry is best. Stainless tub inside stays clean without lime buildup unlike another washer I had that was also stainless in and out. Only odd thing is the flatware rack on the door. Flatware in flatware rack catches bottom rack if you're not careful when pushing it in. Flatware can block detergent door too. But, it's location on the door gives you more room for large dishes.

    Excellent, Not Perfect

It is a good dishwasher. The brand is highly reliable. What's not to like? It is really good but I'll spend most of this article describing the few drawbacks so you see them coming if you chose to buy this model. Wanted you to know these things about it though: Best Buy charged about 150 to get it installed with the old one taken away -- they were highly efficient, but it was more costly than the free install for our Best Buy refrigerator and our Best Buy washer and dryer. The new energy efficent models all want to create sweaty conditions to save on electricity. This seems a little bogus because of how little energy the dishwasher uses all year (estimate $27 or so). But, we are all stuck with the unhappy side of Energy Star too these days. The sweaty stainless looks a little more annoying than if you had the plastic tub -- you notice it less on the plastic. So, everyone apparently uses more JetDry because that will help get rid of the sweaties. We mix our JetDry with vinegar to make it cheap and it works out well with our hard water. Also the utensil tray has some holes on the flip tops that theoretically allow you to put forks and spoons in the holes to keep them separated to get them cleaner -- only problem is the holes are not really that well organized -- our flatware won't fit in the holes for instance. Also, save your old tray, because you may like it better and you may use it instead. We are using both old and new tray -- that is because they made more than one tray-friendly space -- one on the door and one in the rack -- we seem to be happiest with the two trays. Also I saw replacement trays for this one on Amazon.

So far, a very good buy.

I bought this to replace an 8 year old "builders' grade" GE that was efficient but noisy. To begin, the sale price at Best Buy could not be beat by anyone. Delivery and installation was done on time and professionally. Only issue was the Best Buy email instructions, which said old DW had to be uninstalled before delivery of the new one. When the installers arrived, they said that they uninstall as a matter of course. Check with Best Buy, YEMD. So far, I give the Whirlpool an A+ for cleaning. I am not used to having so many options on a dishwasher and am still trying to figure which option is best under a given set of circumstances. But at this point, I'd suggest that the "eco" cleaning cycling would be best for most loads of moderately dirty dishes. As a test, I put a pizza cutter with dried on tomato sauce and cheese in the silverware caddy--no rinsing first. It came out spotless, as did everything else. This cycle is very quiet, depending on the acoustics in your kitchen you might not hear it 6 feet away. BUT, this is an energy efficient cycle and takes a long time to complete. The "1 hour" cycle should handle loads that are dirtier than normal, or that you wish done quickly. The test here was a bowl with 5 day old dried on tuna casserole. Again, it came out shiny and spotless. This cycle is by no means noisy, but you will hear it a little farther away. Also, I did not set a drying option, but the dishes were bone dry fairly quickly after the cycle was completed. And unless you have softened water (I know no one who does), follow the instructions and use rinse solution. It really does eliminate any spotting. Many reviewers don't like the in-door silverware caddy. I have not found it to be an issue, although I don't have a large family. If you do, a previous reviewer said that if you are getting rid of an old dishwasher, save the silverware caddy from it and use it in the Whirlpool. Finally, I have had this appliance 5 days, so I cannot speak to long term reliability. Based on use to date, I expect no problems. I did ding this appliance in my rating for quality because of the stainless exterior. Not high quality stainless at all. Further, the protective plastic wrap that was used left streak marks that are difficult to eliminate. I have gone over it at least 4 times now with Si**** Gr*** stainless steel cleaner and streaks are about 80% gone. Should be completely eliminated with several more applications, but I've used a lot of elbow grease. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase to this point.
