No complaints about performance. Works well and does the job of cooling our upstairs apartment bedroom. It also comes with a well working remote. A couple things I do not like about the design: 1. The casters seem weak because they are plastic. 2. We have a high window and the exhaust is not long enough so I had to place thre entire unit on top of a box. 3. The unit is large and will take a decent amount of space for anyone with a small home. The exhaust tubes are awkward and add to the space eating. 4. It was not in total perfect condition when first opened. There were a couple strange red marks on the body of the unit. Do not know who's fault is, Best Buy or manufacturer? Overall pleased with unit because its helped cool the house but the above design flaws may break the deal for some. I probably would not have bought the unit if I known the issues prior.

Pros: Cools fast, dual hose (so if you've got insulating curtains it's not being sucked into the room), intuitive buttons and controls, water drainage is not a problem compared to my other single hose unit. Cons: Not IR remote control, not sure which frequency the wireless remote is but it's not trivial to use a smart IR hub to control this with automation or Alexa/Google Home. Had to use this because I only have 15 inch wide vertical windows in my master bedroom so couldn't go with the quieter window ac units.

This cools a room pretty well in the Summer in San Jose, CA. It's noticeably cooler when running this. However, I ran this overnight, and the storage tank for the water was full and it shut off. You'll need to drain it sometimes. I believe the dual hose feature helps it be efficient.

We got a second portable unit for the kids room, after getting this one out of the box I took an extra hour of setup to change the one from our room into the kids room instead haha. Has two hoses that can pump out the warm air in the room which makes the temperature lower a lot quicker then our other unit. The remote sometimes goes all wonky, but its not even close to make or break.

Nice looking, not very loud, but will not even cool my 170sq. living room. I ran it for 7 hours. It was about 86 outside, and would only cool my closed off living room to 83. The bottom drain is at floor level, so you can't get anything under it to drain it. The top drain I added a hose to and put a bucket under as there is no where else to drain it to. There is no hole for a hose in the window piece, and I doubt if it would drain uphill as it sits below the window. Not worth the money. I'd like my money refunded.

Portable air conditioners are designed to cool single room spaces. The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments.

I used this in a closed in garage and it helped on the hottest days still, but it was hot regardless. I had to move it next to me to keep me cool and it was glorious. After we got our house a/c fixed, its still fairly hot in this room and this bugger helps keep it few degrees cooler. I connected a spare washing machine water line that I cut to shorten it and run into a bucket that I dumped daily or every other day depending on weather. I'm in a garage that's insulated, but still not as insulated as the rest of the house. Although from my review it may sound weird I give it 5 stars, except note the 350 sq ft its rated for. This a closed in double garage that's almost 600sq ft and has a fridge, freezer and gaming pc to add to the thermals. All that included and it was still able to make it tolerable on hot days even if I left it across the room. Good little bugger. This was also with me only running the exhaust into another smaller garage next to this one using one hose. I didn't want to put a second hole in the wall to run the second, and sometimes I attached both hoses together to bring it across the room but ensure the exhaust could still get out the intended hole I put in the wall and mounted the exhaust connector to. So it wasn't even using its double hose feature - although I did have an insulated cover on the hose. All those disadvantages added together - I think this more than earned 5 stars. ---- Keep in mind I don't know how this unit works when utilizing its double hose feature in a properly rated 350sq ft insulated room. I can only gauge it based on my unique situation. But if your room has poor insulation, your don't use the double hose feature and you try to maintain a temperature in a very humid area without having a continuous drain line connected or using the bucket thing I did then you may have issues for sure. The same goes for any portable a/c unit though.

Unit does cool but under Florida humidity will absolutely require some sort of water management. It can leak out about 2-3 gallons of water daily, I’m currently using a plastic bin to capture the water that leaks out of the machine. No idea where it’s leaking from, both hose fittings are tight and sealed. The only way to use this machine in a permanent manner would require elevating the unit, adding a drain hose preferably tapping into the window plate and adding a drain directly outside. Beyond that just do not buy this unit, it’s loud, leaky and overpriced.

We bought these for our office to supplement the existing A/C unit that is undersized. It certainly helps keep the individual offices cooler although I wouldn't say it's cold. Install was easy and fast.

This portable air conditioner does put out cold air, and keeps the room cool, but does have some issues. When purchasing a dual hose portable air conditioner, one might be under the assumption that if there is an intake and exhaust hose, it shouldn't create negative pressure like a traditional one hose portable air conditioner, right? Wrong. This air conditioner, while it does pull SOME air in through the intake, does not pull nearly as much air as it is exhausting, which then creates negative pressure. I first suspected this might be the case as the intake hose was smaller than the exhaust hose. Unfortunately due to the air conditioner creating negative air pressure, air from warmer places in the house is then brought into the room, and the AC can only barely keep the room the same temperature, barely cooling it after many hours and wasting electricity in the process. If you have an air tight space you want to use this, it MAY work as intended, but as for me, the room this is being used in is not perfectly air-tight and as a result, lead to issues in cooling the room down. In the end, I hoped this design would have the hot and cold sides completely separate using the hoses as the "window to the outside", but unfortunately that is not the case.

Quite happy with the performance and look of this Indoor Portable Air-Conditioner, I checked the online reviews and compared for the 2-Hose model. The 2-hoses, for Intake of outside air for air-cooling the compressor and motor, then venting heated air Exhaust save time and money in cooling the room. A little more money than the next single hose style, but air-conditioner does not have to cool the heated air it makes or draw outside hot air into Apartment to replace the heated air it makes for air-cooling the motor/compressor, then vents through single hose.

I am very happy with this unit! I live in a studio and it cools the whole place quickly and efficiently. Quiet enough to run at night if need be which I was concerned about since my apartment is smaller, but it is just like running a normal fan.

I was concerned about needing to get a bucket or run a hose out the window to keep this running. I live in N Central Florida, so humidity is definitely a concern. Glad to say, not a problem. This bad boy is keeping over half of my house nice and cool. Also, it is next to silent.

Bought this for downstairs living area. Had to use it just once but in performed nicely. A bonus is it is very quiet. That is a real plus!! I would recommend this to anyone!

This was a great investment. It's pretty quiet and actually cools the room down as opposed to the single hose air conditioners.

I got this AC after reading a lot of reviews and online videos. I had to go with a portable AC as the apartment I moved in didn't come with cooling and I did not want to install a window AC as I wasn't sure if my landlord would let me install it. Design and installation The AC itself looks pretty decent, I mean its an AC. First thing I noticed was the weight, it is incredibly heavy which I expected but the wheels don't help much when you're moving it while installing. I have a window which slides side to side (Not up and down). The window is also pretty tall and pretty high up. But the included plastic attachment was pretty easy to install once I cut it to the right size. I only wish the hoses would have been slightly longer for some room for the AC placement on the floor. Function: This is where the nightmare begins! The AC just works whenever it feels like it. Even though the room temperature was 85F and I had set the AC temperature to 61F (which is the lowest it goes), the compressor only comes for only 10 minutes before shutting off. So the room never gets cool. I tried everything for two weeks, moving the AC to a better spot, making sure the hoses were connected correctly etc, nothing worked. I then contacted customer service who gave me the same troubleshooting tips and asked me to measure some temperatures behind the unit and in front of it. I did and sent it to them. Then they inform me that I would have to ship it to their service center and wait for it to be repaired (and also rudely informed me that I would have to pay for the shipping and handling if they didn't find anything wrong with it, great customer service guys!). Well I'm not going to go without an AC for god knows how long they're going to take. Thankfully I found a way to temporarily fix the issue. It seems that the issue I was facing only happens if I used the remote to turn on the AC. It does not happen if I turn it on using the power button on the unit itself. The remote also just goes haywire sometimes and restarts by itself. So for now I'll wait until summer is over to get it repaired. TLDR - Would not purchase another unit from Whynter and would not recommend it to anyone I know because of their customer service and bad quality control.

Whytner had the best reviews and Best Buy offered the best pricing. The 11,000 btu proved to be more than adequate as we were contemplating 12k originally
