I was waiting for this movie for e a long time, this Blu-ray is wonderful.

I am an 80s child born. I missed a lot of the old style fantasy that came in the old days, having only the 90s onward to cement my tastes in SFF (sci fi and fantasy). When I found this gem after seeing the big Lucas franchises in Star Wars and Indiana Jones, I was skeptical of it. Surprisingly, the story does step out on its own and bring some new elements to a classic story trope. You have Val Kilmer during the rise to fame that he'd further during the 80s, 90s, and to even the 00s, but he is only one of many others. The true star is Warwick Davis, who was only in his late teens when he did Willow. You also have various appearances from other great actors who have come and gone or are still with us. Overall, the movie brings a great story with a great soundtrack and a very nice remastering (this has both DVD and Blu, so you get both formats). This, along with Princess Bride and Highlander (and even Legend), show that the 80s were great in bringing us memorable fantasy flicks that should never be forgotten.

Very interesting film from an era that I thought I saw every movie. its neat to view a film like this for the first time 30 years after it came out, especially in HD.
