Such a great classic movie and it looks amazing in 4K

I really love this movie and I totally enjoyed the 4K transfer. I have the Blu-Ray and without comparing the two versions side-by-side, I found the 4K to be brighter colors, clearer and I could see more fine details....like on Willy Wonka's shirt and many of the details as they enter the first area, with the chocolate mixing, etc. My television is a Sony Z9, to give you an idea of what I am watching this on. As far as the sound goes, I found it to be as good, if not a tad better. But then, I have a nice surround sound (Marantz receiver with Martin-Logan speakers). I am not a I am definitely not a "Movie Theater" geek...I just like nice theater components, So, as a non-expert to another, if you enjoy this movie and have a 4K set-up, I highly recommend this to everyone!!

A classic with legendary Gene Wilder always a good watch.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Digital Copy is missing and Slip cover missing

This is a great 4K UHD disc and definitely worth the upgrade compared to the standard blu-ray disc that was released in 2009. While the improvements in better color grading and HDR enhancement is noticeable, the biggest noticeable difference is the newly-corrected framing. While there may be room for improvement, this is still worth the upgrade for any fans of this film. The 4K UHD disc includes the following subtitles: English, English SDH, French, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish While the 4K UHD disc only includes the audio commentary, the rest of the special features are included in the standard blu-ray disc which is identical to the previous release. It includes the following: -Audio Commentary -Pure Imagination: The Story of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (30 minutes) -Sing-Along Songs (9 minutes) -Original Featurette (4 minutes) -Mel Stuart's Wonkavision (14 minutes) -A World of Pure Imagination (13 minutes) -Theatrical Trailer (3 minutes)

I have not seen this since I was a kid. A great movie. Jean was great.

This 4k looks good and sounds good. Worth buying for sure.

Great transfer and worthy upgrade from the blu-ray

This movie is freakin' SWEET! I'm talkin' Scrum-diddily-umptiouis! It's never tasted better. The video qualty is smooth as a river of milk chocolate. The grain is like the texture of creamy nougat. The colors are like the kaleidoscope swirls of lollipops and gummi bears. And the upscale to 4K is like drizzling a coat of caramel. The story is as timelessly enjoyable as an everlasting gob-stopper. The acting, the product design, the story - it's enough to make your teeth sing with gushes of flavor washing over your mouth. It's all written right there - clear as crystal. All that's left to say is "Good day, sir!"

I must have watched this a dozen times on TV as kid and always thought how drab, dull, and ugly it looked. This new UHD edition is like watching it for the first time! The film looks nearly perfect with fantastic bright colors, amazing crispness, and deep blacks. There is also a healthy level of film grain. I can't imagine it looked any better in theaters back in 1971. Importantly, this edition also fixes the incorrect framing of the blu-ray. I hadn't seen the film all the way through in many years and had a blast re-visiting this classic. Don't hesitate to add this to your 4K collection.

When I saw this was getting a 4K release, I jumped all over it. While it doesn't follow the book as closely as the Tim Burton version attempted to, you at least won't be left feeling uneasy watching Wonka himself and the practical effects are just so much fun to watch. That's not to say the Tim Burton version is bad, but I think they tried too hard to make it as over-the-top as possible and forgot what made this one such a classic. Also, it has Gene Wilder in it, how can you not enjoy it?
