One of the 5 classic Western collaborations between Jimmy Stewart and Anthony Mann (director), Winchester '73 follows a feud between half brothers -- one good, one bad -- as told through the story of a "one-in-a-thousand" model Winchester repeating rifle. The rifle is won in a shooting contest run by Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, stolen, used to hunt "savage" Indians, and finally... well, I'll let you see for yourself in the bloody ending. Movie also stars Stewart cohorts Millard Mitchell and Dan Duryea with a young and beefy Shelley Winters cast as damsel in distress.
