In an attempt to possibly save many children from getting this game in their stockings or as a present from someone who doesn't know much about video games and just wants to buy something good that a young gamer will enjoy, my recommendation is to stop right now and do some research on the internet for this game from any of the main game review sites (or even youtube) before you buy this. This game has received some truly horrible reviews. I bought this game for $2 used and on many levels feel that I may have paid too much. I own about 80 3DS games and play the system regularly. I have been (trying) to play Wipeout 2 for about a week straight and after only 5 minutes of interaction with this title, quikly realized why this game consistently gets so many bad reviews from game sites. I would discourage all parents from buying this for kids they know and instead put your money towards a quality title. We had purchased our son the first Wipeout game for the Wii as a Christmas present a few years back. After watching him struggle withit for 3 minutes, he asked for me to show him how to play for more than 30 seconds without dying...after struggling to make any significant progress in the game (and find any enjoyment) ...I finally just shut the system off and we got rid of that game and bought him something else. I had hopes the developers had improved on things and that Wipeout 2 for the 3DS would somehow be better...if it is...it's not much. Horrible inconsistent controls, annoying repetitive comments from the announcers (thankfully you can turn this off), very low quality graphics for the 3DS, and the inability to find workable patterns that allow you to progress through a level, quickly start adding up to little fun. You know something is really wrong with a game when you fly through an area easily on one run through...then the next run through you are doing the same thing and appear to be hitting some sort of invisible wall that keeps you from progressing. You back out and go back into the level and somehow you are able to get by that section now, but find the wall somewhere else. Even on the earlier levels I have had segments of the game that are literally impassable. I've played hard games, but it's different when you getting something like this game where it's not designed to be impossibly hard...but instead obviously had almost no budget and is filled with so many glitches and inconsistencies that it becomes impossibly hard, frustrating and little fun. So far this is hands down the worst looking and playing 3DS game I have come across. I don't doubt that someone somewhere may enjoy playing this game...but some people also enjoy throwing rocks into a pond...and rocks are free. Spend your money elsewhere.

Good for people who like sports - it is fun to play all these wipe out games in 3D.
